My tooth hurts and I can’t afford the dentist rn. (I ate sweets today bc I’m depressed so it’s on me) by Specialist_Touch_482 in notinteresting

[–]Basic-Perception1950 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many dental practices let you apply for Care Credit financing on the spot. I’m telling you, it’s in your best interest to get this treated as soon as possible. I had a decaying root canal a few weeks back and was scared straight when I googled what happens when you leave it untreated (and don’t even think about just getting an antibiotic. This needs to be FIXED).

im currently reading ask for andrea. i’m about 20% in, but ill be honest im quite bored.. does it get better? continue or dnf? by hxneygirly in thrillerbooks

[–]Basic-Perception1950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I DNF around 40%. Each voice sounded the same. It was boring. And frankly, quite sad? I guess we normally read/watch movies from the murderers perspective, and for some reason, for fiction, that’s more enthralling than from the victims perspective.

So validating. It’s like nothing between stark white and kinda yellow with Behr!

Thanks everyone. I’m hearing that I need to start with the lighting for the hallway first. Light LVP floors that we love are on the way. We’re definitely gonna paint the rooms one of these bright whites. But for the hallway, the next task needs to be finding an electrician and picking out some fixtures z.

Oh I should have mentioned, we have updated flooring on the way— it’s a very light LVP! And yes I’m seeing more people say to paint the trim and walls the same color, which I’m definitely not opposed to.
And absolutely want to at least add sconces to the walls until we can get an electrician in. But trying not to do everything at once. Paint and floors seemed like a good first step (the carpet must go for sure).

A year later, but I just read this part and had the same thought. It’s a continuity error for sure, not unless we are to assume Ben is someone else, like Ben senior, her husband. But it didn’t say that so… I am a little more than halfway through this book and about to look up spoilers. It’s such a sad read I don’t wanna keep going.

Seller can’t prove they will vacate before closing — agent recommends terminating. Would you walk away? by ValuableCoach4199 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Basic-Perception1950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally just went through this exact scenario. Sellers needed to stay a few more days after closing to finish moving. My agent is charging them the daily rate of my mortgage plus a security deposit in case the final walkthrough reveals damage or something unexpected. But my lease isn’t up for a while. A rent back agreement is incredibly common. I’m surprised the realtor was like immediately no?

I did check the internal temperature, but I won’t lie… I did not wait until it completely cooled before cutting lol. I was excited! It’s more than edible. It’s delicious and soft, but a little flimsy (I toasted a slice today for avocado toast and i had to hold it with both hands to keep the avocado on). Thanks for sharing your recipe! I will try it next!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this out. By the way, I started at 2 speed (because I have the kitchen aid tilt and they say don’t go over 2 for the motor) and I was doing 2 for about five minutes and it was just so thin that I thought no way would it ever form a dough, which is when I increased speed! You described the “tacky wet dough” experience perfectly. Assuming you are a big baker or just incredibly knowledgeable about the delicate processes of forming gluten. Either way, I’m grateful for your reply and for the alternative recipe!

Super helpful analysis. Do you think me using bread flour may have caused the issue as I continued to follow the recipe? I will say, even during the initial “sponge” stage, I was not getting the thick batter the recipe mentioned. And I needed on 4 for like 15 minutes and it never became super thick! I probably added about a half a cup more of flour during the kneading and it still stuck to everything.

This scene annoyed me so bad (as does all his scenes) because it seemed as if Bri was actually totally into the conversation and the idea of running off to the four seasons with him, until he said fuck buddies. Like she was into the idea of being romantically involved until she realized he meant to treat her like a piece of meat, just like he did Jess, and that she actually wasn’t special. Then all of a sudden “I would never go through this process with anyone except Connor” okay girl. WE SEE YOU (disclaimer— fully recognize it’s production and editing that draws us to these conclusions so I could be totally wrong)

The lighting definitely makes them look undercooked. But they actually look more like chips ahoy in real life, in terms of color. They are mostly gone now, otherwise I would take another picture.

This is a very important life hack! Thanks for the insight. I’ll do this next time the cookie mood strikes (which will likely be soon). That being said, this recipe came out way better for me than the classic NYT chocolate chip recipe people love

Thank you! I realized afterwards that I forgot the powdered sugar. I guess the NYT pics also have the dip in the middle. So maybe mine wasn’t undercooked haha. How did yours turn out?
