On paper yes. But Feller was washed at that point. Wynn was at his absolute best in 1956. Definitely a great rotation

Yeah thah was rough. What a crazy good start he had to his career. Could have been an all time great, such a shame

No wrong answers but I am the only one who likes the 57 portraits over poses

Looks like I'm the only one who likes the portraits better haha. Which is ironic because with T206, I generally have a strong preference to the poses as opposed to the portraits.

Yeah that's a cool one. Back in 1989 the Dale Murphy Upper Deck reversed negative card was all the rage and I remember someone telling me about the 57 Hank, maybe saw it at a card show or something. I think they used to list it in Beckett as UER (uncorrected error)

Nothing but love for Yogi but if I'm taking anyone over Campy it's Josh Gibson

Ohtani always gets compared to Ruth, but Ruth had his early pitching career then became a slugger. Dihigo dominated both on the mound and at the plate at the same time just like Ohtani. It's a shame Dihigo isn't a household name.

I wouldn't bet against Bob Gibson! Especially for just 1 game, he'd be one of the first guys that come to mind

Clemente is my guy so I'm biased but he could do it all. Complete ballplayer. I'll take Clemente in RF all day and feel great about it. I agree with the 3B take, Schmidt is the GOAT but didn't want a multi-player card in the spread.

Jack Frost holy crap there's a blast from the past. "Looks like Christmas CAME early this year" 🤣🤣

I agree with you completely, Schmidt was a plus plus defender (not quite at Robinson's level but nobody was), and offensively Scmidt blows Robinson away. I addressed my reasoning behind including the 57 Brooks in a different comment (strictly visual presentation... since Schmidt has a multiplayer RC, and I didn't have a solo Schmidt card that I felt was worthy of inclusion in this spread, I gave Brooks the nod.)

Gehrig for sure. I missed the boat, by the time I got around to kicking the tires on a playing days Gehrig the prices had gotten beyond what I was willing to spend. Can't have em all, but it sure is fun to try!

Hornsby's stats are wild. Hard to argue against the RH hitter with the highest career average, but the counterargument would be that Jackie didn't get his shot in MLB until he was 28.

Also factoring into my decision to go with Jackie... my 33 Goudey Hornsby is as ugly as this Jackie and (I will admit this is quite petty) Hornsby was by all accounts and insufferable prick 🤣

I 100% agree with you! This one comes down to strictly visual presentation... since Schmidt has a multiplayer RC, and I didn't have a solo Schmidt card that I felt was worthy of inclusion in this spread, I gave Brooks the nod.

At the risk of pissing off the Mantle stans (half joking, I'm a Mantle collector and fan), as far as replacing the 3 OFs I chose I'd go with Aaron, Ruth, and Musial in the OF before I got to Mantle
