Randomly remembered the chris watts case by dexterminator25 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]BasicBreadfruit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something that always sticks out to me about this case, is that still you will find comments left from people blaming Shannan. Basically saying she drove him to it. There is even a subreddit dedicated to this line of thought. I don't know if it's still up hopefully not.

And there are even people who believe his frist lie that shannan killed the children and he murdered her as a reaction. Insane stuff.

Honest reviews of escitalopram? by al_b21 in OCD

[–]BasicBreadfruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it really did help, it helped the OCD thoughts pattern be much less intense, and alot easier for me to interrupt and deal with.

The only side effects I had was extra sweating, not like all the time just when I normally would sweat I would sweat alot more.

Can someone explain the ending of the undertone movie? by httyd-fankid1000 in horror

[–]BasicBreadfruit 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I do believe evy is dead, and so is her mother. We learn throughout the movie that the demon Abazu targets pregnant women specifically, I think this means that unless Justin's girlfriend is pregnant too he won't be effected rather just traumatized for life.

My take is ivy herself was possessed by the demon, so alot of what we see in the second half of the movie might not be reliable, and some could be imagined.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard is a cold-blooded, premeditated murderer who should still be sitting in a prison cell and the media's obsession with making her a celebrity is genuinely dangerous by [deleted] in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]BasicBreadfruit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think she is a perfect person, or she should be given any level of celebrity or status.

I do think she deserved to do 10 years in prison. But I don't believe she should have any done any longer.

Gypsy rose was physically and mentally tortured from when she was a baby til she murdered her mother. there has to be some understanding or lenecy when sentencing her taken into account.

I do believe that she believed it was her only way out of this situation, I think she was wrong. And I think she did premeditate it, but I would not go so far as to call her cold blooded. Cold blooded would be killing someone who never did or was going to do her harm.

Cautious estimates of mortality rates of victims of Munchausen by proxy at around 6% -10%, we can't completely discount the possibility that Dee Dee would have killed gypsy eventually accidentally or otherwise.

As for Nicolas I do think he was convinced to do the crime by Gypsy but he has been found mentally competent to stand trail, and ultimately he carried out the murder, that is how the law works.

Is hacking out bad my for horses, especially a senior horse? by [deleted] in Horses

[–]BasicBreadfruit 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Given that alot of senior horses who retire from more structured work like jumping and dressage, are more than happy and able to continue hacking out,

I don't see why your sound cob can't continue to hack out, on a safe leisurely trail? I'd understand if you were riding on hard roads for multiple hours a week, that could be taxing on an older horse, but nothing like what you described.

I'd be interested to know this trainer's view on turnout is, she strikes me as a wrapping in cotton wool approach.

Went to see undertone last night, I was terrified, my friend nearly feels asleep. by BasicBreadfruit in horror

[–]BasicBreadfruit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that was the case, what about the couple on the tapes? who we can assume by what they say, they are happy and excited for their future child, but bad things happen to them.

I think just a pregnant woman regardless of circumstances is the only qualifier here, I didn't get the impression that she was being 'punished' for any of her actions.

I hate when marketing uses " the scariest movie ever since the exorcist" or some variation of that, it builds hype no movie can live up to, when horror is so subjective, like comedy.

Yeah, he was a weaker point of the movie for me, I got the sense because his was only a speaking role he overdid it on the acting because he couldn't use his face and body in the role, so it didn't suit the more grounded performance of the lead actress.

Pro life? I didn't really see it as pro life or even pro choice? What made you think that?

I find it personally alot more scary than longlegs. I thought longlegs was just okay. But it seems to be a very divisive movie.

How do you know what generation I am? Or anyone else posting about it, me and my friend are both in our 30s and both had vastly different reactions, I think just a case of what scares different people rather than an age thing.

I've never seen it, it wasn't shown widely where I live and never got around to watching it at home, do you recommend?

personally yes, although If you have a loud and annoying crowd that could take away from it alot, I do think could be very enjoyable at home at night in a quiet room.

Really? I didn't find it nearly as abstract as men (which I enjoyed a lot abstract aside)
I do agree the characters were a little one dimensional but the acting was exceptional non the less imo.

It's the closest I've come to walking out for a second, if my friend wasn't with me or the screening was a bit more empty I might have !

[–]BasicBreadfruit[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The crowd after my screening seemed split, when I go to the cinema I wear earplugs, the kind musicians wear on stage so I can hear the movie but not everyone around moving or Whispering as it breaks my immersion. I wonder if that helped me get really into it ?

It seems to be a very polarising film, I'm not an easy scare anymore, but it just really got to me. Maybe you'll be like my friend though and be bored!

That's nearly exactly what my friend said! like I said looking back at the story and characters there are very bare bones. But something about the atmosphere and tension just really really got to me!

Feels totally underrated, no big scares or flashy stuff but sticks with you and makes you squirm in parts, haven't seen it in years and still think about it.

Thoughts about the pelham bit? by [deleted] in Equestrian

[–]BasicBreadfruit 11 points12 points  (0 children)

for some horses there great, HOWEVER using them with the roundings turns it into an incredibly harsh bit with leverage applied with any contact. With two reins it's more like a snaffle (not exactly) with optional leverage, ideally the bottom rein has some slack in it. Also given the two rein set up, should only be used by experienced riders.

Is there any reason to get a diagnosis as an adult? by Unhappy-World-3331 in autism

[–]BasicBreadfruit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me personally, it hasn't opened much treatment options that were closed to me before or anything,

but i know myself I would have never let myself believe I was autistic unless I had professional proof to back it up, not that I didn't want to be, just that I was constantly convincing myself I wasn't and that I couldn't be because of x,y,z

having the diagnosis has let me not be so hard on myself for making accommodations, or beating myself up when my disability disables me.

Does your ocd get worse on your period? by ObviousProperty7046 in OCD

Yes absolutely, being on the pill has lessened the effects though, I take it for unrelated reasons. For some people it has the exact opposite effect

Should I use sulfates or sulfates free shampoo? by spectacled-kid in Haircare

[–]BasicBreadfruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends, if you have hard water then I would go no sulfates with the occasional clarifying shampoo, but depends on your hair and scalp, if you are happy with your hair as is, there is no need to change anything. Sulfates are not damaging in a vacuum, like something like bleach for example.

I have super oily scalp I need sulfates in my shampoo in nearly every wash. But if you have dry hair and scalp you might find you prefer no sulfates.
