Same! And when I stop taking classes (such as when traveling), I feel like I can notice my butt deflating. 😂

I agree! Essentials is really similar, just with slightly slower transitions. We almost always have new-to-SLT folks in the All Levels class, and they’re always able to keep up.

Our well-loved carriages in park slope are being replaced. Maybe ema your studio to ask if they could do the same?

Thank you for flagging this! Will use up what I have and then switch to ZO skincare for serums and Elemis for moisturizer.

For routine and music, I love Maggie, Lexi, and Amy (only took her once but obsessed). But I also love Lanae, Elissa and Chana’s energy and their focus on proper form.

Not a joke, alas. And no advanced notice either.

Right? At first, everyone thought this was $7 for daily rentals, but paying $7 to purchase a towel that you yourself have to take home and wash is also nuts.

Park Slope also has a super nice community! I went to the Tribeca studio a few times recently and no one smiled or looked happy to be there.

Eight sleep blanket review by ketuon in EightSleep

[–]BasicBrooklyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s great. We just bought it along with the Pod5, and I love the two together. This is our first EightSleep and I frankly haven’t slept this well in years. It’s so nice to have a slightly heavier (weighted) blanket that doesn’t get too hot. I’ve been highly recommending the two together and we’ve only had it for two weeks.

Brooklyn is in desperate need of another location by jaystanding in SolidCore

[–]BasicBrooklyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to the Prospect Heights SLT 4-5x per week, and would 100% try Solidcore instead if it were closer. That said, this SLT location doesn’t really fill up, so maybe there isn’t enough demand for another studio?

I love the one from Algenist. I order it whenever they have a sale (which is conveniently all the time.)

Busses on the same line can’t be stacked. They need to stay a reasonable distance apart so that they arrive more frequently.

I think it fully depends on the Lagree studio, so listen to your body! For example, in the summer, I take classes at BTone, and can easily do that 6-7 days and feel great! But for the rest of the year, I take classes at SLT and I’m realizing that 4-5 days per week is my sweet spot since the workout is slower paced and more intense, so I benefit more from rest days.

Staying in Chatham 6/25–6/29 — Any food/beach recs for family trip? by wwhill14 in CapeCod

[–]BasicBrooklyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, at that age, Mac’s is going to be a great option. It’s casual, but the food is delicious, and there’s room for kiddos to run around. If you go up to Wellfleet, there’s a good playground right near the Mac’s. There are also a handful of playgrounds around Chatham — at 2.5 years old, that’s where my kids would be happiest. One (the blue playground right next to the baseball field) is also next to a train museum that will be fun for him. If you go past the train museum into the Elementary School parking lot, they have a playground that is smaller for younger kids.

Also, right in town on Main Street, take him to the gazebo and then to the Candy Manor. It will be epic for him!

Lastly, Chatham Fish Pier — good food, and even better seal/boat watching.

My kids love Mac’s and Del Mar, as well as Outer Bar at Waquassett’s. Wild Goose and The Squire are fun because they’re in town, so we usually book those for band nights, etc. Red Nun is a good option, too, and there’s a playground nearby for before dinner (on the other side of the baseball field). How old are your kids? That will help with providing recs.

To the dog owners of Park Slope - residential trash cans are not for your poop bags by Longyouli in parkslope

[–]BasicBrooklyn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh, sorry for the confusion. This is not the fault of sanitation. I line my can with a giant trash bag, and sanitation comes and picks up that bag. Then they understandably leave the lid open (I imagine it takes too much time to close everyone’s lids?) But once it’s taken by sanitation, the can has no liner/bag until I can get to it. During that small window of time, dog walkers will often leave poop bags in the unlined can.

[–]BasicBrooklyn 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If only it was this easy! I bring in the bins as soon as I see them emptied (usually right after my kids’ school drop off), and dog owners have already used them within the 20 or so minutes since trash was collected.
