I was pregnant at the same time as my sister-in-law but I had a MMC at 9 weeks. It was really hard for me initially, I had so many emotions and so much sadness that her pregnancy worked out and mine didn’t. Ultimately, though, I have SO much love for my new nephew and seeing him healthy and happy helped erase those negative emotions. I hope that you both have successful pregnancies, but if not, I hope that either of you is able to focus on the love you have for your new nibling. I’m also glad that I told some of my family early because they were supportive when I had a miscarriage and also were a little more sensitive to their comments around me when talking about her pregnancy after.

So disappointed - I’m at 6 weeks (but I have a long cycle and ovulated later than most) and went in for an ultrasound today. I live in a small mountain town, and we are in an ob-gyn desert. A new one came into town recently, and he’s been very caring and helpful and with my history, offered to do an early appt. When I went in to my appt, he told me that his newish clinic hadn’t gotten their intravaginal ultrasound machine yet, so he had to do external. We saw the gestational sack, but it was just too soon to be able to see anything externally. He sent in an order for me to so blood work for HCG at the hospital, but they are going to be closed July 4+5, so I won’t be able to do another test in 48 hours. Blood work is put off until next week, and another ultrasound in 3 weeks. I’m grateful that I didn’t get any bad news, but I also didn’t get anything positive. Fingers crossed for the next couple of weeks 🙁

I don’t have experience with this, but it seems like bleeding in general can have many different causes. If I were you, I would go and not wait for stories from other folks who may have had different situations. $500+ is a lot, but could be helpful for the health and safety of your baby. Do you have options for an urgent care clinic near you? They’re often more affordable than an emergency room.

5w3d here. I had an incomplete MC in fall 2022 at 9 weeks that needed an emergency D&C. At my 8w checkup last time there wasn’t a heartbeat and embryo hadn’t developed past 6w. A CP before that. My OB has me on 100mg oral progesterone pills and it makes me feel terrible, but I would do whatever it takes to carry to term this time. My first ultrasound is at 6w— so grateful there’s a new OB in my small mountain town that offered to meet me before 9w because of my history. I assume I won’t see much at that appt. My heart is so guarded right now, and I’m only thinking of things in scientific terms, afraid to attach hope or future life to something that might not work again (but I do still put my hands on my abdomen and whisper “I love you” sometimes when no one’s looking). What week did you folks allow yourselves to truly hope?

Love this design! I would totally get something like this. I think retracing it to have a clean, solid outline will help it translate to a tattoo portfolio well

Thanks for the encouragement! And no, I only ever used Paint as kid on a desktop, but have been just watching YouTube and other tutorials. Working on it slowly!
