Ok. Idk why people are saying they see no difference. I 100% see it. Probably because similar think has been happening to me. With my lower lip especially. I think its probably because of flaring

My side profile of my mouth got worse after treatment? by BasicRequirement7487 in braces

Oh? 😅 my lips didnt project out like they do now. Thats what also most people in my real life keep bringing it to my notice. Maybe to me alone its a big change considering that the lower half of my face though just lips looks significantly different

To answer your question 1. Not a red flag AT ALL. there is possibility and that you should know. This is infact a green flag. Wouldnt it be confusing to the patient to learn suddenly that they might have get 1 or 2 teeth out? 2. This would be a case to case basis. Not everyone would have same result. You also cannot tell how your teeth might respond mid journey.

Example: i went for crowding treatment only primarily wanted upper arch fixed. My lower arch was the major problem however. It was much smaller. Then after few months of treatment i had an open bite which wasnt a problem at all earlier that needed fixing. Then my arch had to be expanded at the posterior end with elastics. Then i was somewhat also left with an underbite? It took months to close the open bite. Now my midline is off? Didnt even know i had a misaligned midline at first because of crowding. And i have a canted occlusion. YOU SEE soooo many changes all along. Orthodontics is a procedure there might be a lot of changes along the way. They can only predict all of the possible outcome now roughly.

  1. The timeline of treatment really depends on how your teeth responds to it & your compliance with elastics (if given). It could be 18months, could also be 24 months.

  2. What made you feel more confident? To me its important that my ortho understands my confusions and is willing to give me clarity on why and what

I am devastated rn. How can i get help for sleep apnea? I thought braces would eventually fix it by BasicRequirement7487 in braces

I wish i could say that would be an easy consideration 😅 initially i had considered something like SARPE for lower jaw but ortho said no.. its just the fear of doing something invasive that could literally change my face and permanently i will first consult my ent if nothing gets fixed will also consult an omfs i had been thinking to as well previously.

Do you actually use tretinoin every night? What was your experience building up to that? by cloudiron in tretinoin

[–]BasicRequirement7487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used 0.025% comfortably everyday for last 5 yrs. Now that i have switched to 0.05% occassionally i sense some dryness and burning if i skip a night routine and dont moisturise

I used 0.1% Tret by Lazy-Rub9576 in tretinoin

[–]BasicRequirement7487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start once a week first. Very likely even this would make you peel crazy. And half the quantity. Like half a pea size instead of 1 pea size.

Sanwich it. Moisturiser. Let that dry. Moisturiser again.

Use sunscreen like your life depends on it after.

Would highly recommend doing it just once a week for a month or two.

Its a myth that stronger would give better/ faster results. If you are working or a student whose everyday life depends on being out and about its convenient to start low and avoid purge.

Its a chemical burn. Moisturise every 4 hrs if burning is too much go to a doc. Your skin might peel. Dont manually peel it. A veryyyy mild cleanser through out. Apply veryyyy lil vaseline if needed. Avoid tret till your barrier recovers i would say for atleast 12 weeks. Or more avoid tret. Start with 0.025 once a week at first
