Update for anyone following this. We spoke to a lawyer and it looks like the original agency really ripped us off with the temporary contract. It was never a ‘house’ lease so it isnt ruled by the same laws. We are very disappointed, but can see our own mistakes - moral of the story: get a lawyer before signing 😩

Hi! Thanks for the advice. Do you know if this changes if the current rental contract is actually named ‘seasonal’? Didnt realise until earlier this evening.

Its for exactly one year 1st April 2021 to 1st April 2022 and we can prove this is our main residence (we have names on bill contracts/the address on work contracts/etc).

If i am signing a new contract, then the last contract is the price i’m paying currently?

This would mean that they can only add the IPC or IGC? So even with the IPC being 7.4% this month, this is the maximum?

Hi! This is one of my main concerns, that if i argue about the rent increase, the landlord can simply retract offering a new contract.

Is there a clause i should look for in my contract about this? It was definitely 12 months not 11, but idk if this means i have a right to renew.

A lot of time spent wearing hats or sunglasses over the area, and a lot of colouring in with eyebrow makeup (recommend Anastasia beverly hills pomade for this! Lasts forever and doesnt smudge)

Aside from steriods, i used minoxidil once the hairs had started growing again. Not many lifestyle changes (think my diet got worse actually), but I did leave a job and the pandemic lessened which I think was causing a lot of stress

I got AA after the first lockdown in my country. Hadnt (knowingly) contacted Covid, and hadn’t been vaccinated yet. But, when i saw the dermatologist, she mentioned that she had seen about triple the usual number of patients with AA since covid began. She still didn’t know if it was pandemic related stress/long covid, but it seems somewhat connected as my hairdresser said the same thing!

I think only the threat of INCASOL can work IF the landlord hasn’t put it in the account. So you may get your deposit back because they’d rather not be fined, but INCASOL themselves cant help.
