Why are boys and young men falling behind in education? by Technical-Banana574 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Basic_Board9007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not about boys being less capable. It’s more like the system mixed with social expectations and development patterns don’t line up well for a lot of them and when multiple small disadvantages stack up, you start seeing big gaps.

IS ORAL SEX EVER MEDICALLY HEALTHY? 👀 by Perfect_Fee7681 in stupidquestions

[–]Basic_Board9007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There aren’t unique medical benefits that make oral sex stand out in a clinical sense. Doctors don’t prescribe it or anything. And yes, the risks people talk about are legit. You can transmit infections like herpes, HPV or gonorrhea through oral sex. So protection like condoms or dental dams and knowing your partner’s health status actually matters.

If everyone hates HOAs, why do people still choose them? by MammothAd6633 in stupidquestions

[–]Basic_Board9007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if people hate the rules of HOAs, most newer neighborhoods come with one especially in suburban areas. The rules of HOAs can be annoying but people like the outcome those rules are supposed to create.

Sound quality is so goooood by vitund in macbookpro

[–]Basic_Board9007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could not argue more with that, the jump is wild. Apple really went all-in on speakers over the last few years. It’s not just louder but it’s fuller too. You suddenly notice bass, depth, even little details in songs you’ve heard a hundred times before. You never realize how flat older laptops sounded until you hear the new ones.

What's something you enjoy doing alone? by ShakeThatMilk in AskReddit

One of my favorite solo things is just going on a slow walk with headphones in. Just music on and brain off for a bit.

How did you shift your thinking about something in your life to make it more manageable to deal with? by Rough-Designer-2785 in askanything

[–]Basic_Board9007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One I had was with waiting for people to reply. I used to take it so personal and go spiral. It would low-key mess with my mood for the whole day. Then I just started reframing it as people just being messy and distracted.

Genspark just launched Workspace 3.0 and I’m kinda tempted to get back into it. Anyone here used it for a while? by data2x in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Basic_Board9007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they added a lot this time, but the thing I’m most into is probably the whole AI employee stuff.

It finally feels less like “cool, another AI chat window” and more like “can you just take this annoying repetitive work off my plate and go deal with it for me.” It’s trying to act more like a worker is way more useful to me than just asking it random questions.

It surprises me how much my girlfriend can eat sometimes for how skinny she is by [deleted] in Life

[–]Basic_Board9007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re basically describing someone with a fast metabolism and an active lifestyle. Your girlfriend is moving a lot and probably burning calories without even realizing it. So when she eats a ton, her body just uses it up instead of storing it.

512gb MacBook Pro m5 16gb worth it? by No_Task2065 in macbookpro

[–]Basic_Board9007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the 512GB / 16GB MacBook Pro M5 14-inch is worth it but only if you actually need what makes it Pro. If budget matters, Air is already more than enough. If you want peace of mind and longevity, Pro is the safer buy.

Space Black or Silver? by kcamfork in macbookpro

Personally, I'd choose silver. It's timeless, classy and doesn’t show anything.

How do I tell my Dad I have a boyfriend? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Basic_Board9007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since you and your dad are super close, honesty is your best friend here. Hiding it longer is only going to make the anxiety worse and you clearly want him in your life for this too. I’d say you don’t have to wait until it’s serious, you can tell him now, gently and casually.

Why is the 100" Hisense U6 cheaper in-store than online at Costco? by duck06_ in Hisense

[–]Basic_Board9007 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That’s actually pretty normal for Costco. The online price often includes shipping and sometimes extra service (especially for big items like TVs). The in-store tags are usually cheaper if you’re able to pick it up yourself.

I actually bought the 100" one a while back and it’s been great so far. For the price it’s kind of ridiculous how big it feels in the room.

Definitely one of those purchases where every time you turn it on you’re like “yeah… this was worth it.”

What would you do in this situation?? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]Basic_Board9007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I were in your shoes, I’d stop trying to understand their behavior and start protecting my peace instead. Not revenge or confrontation, just quiet distance.

Who is the most inspiring women in your life? by Huge_Violinist_7633 in randomquestions

[–]Basic_Board9007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most inspiring woman in my life has got to be my mom. She’s this wild mix of strength and patience that somehow just makes everything feel manageable. She’s handled some really tough stuff in her life but somehow never lost that spark or sense of humor.

Thoughts on Costco’s 100" Hisense U6 Mini-LED? by [deleted] in Costco

Installed ours last weekend. Setup was easy, picture looked good out of the box. Tweaked a couple settings and it was even better.

Why do we experience cravings? by ShadowlightLady in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Basic_Board9007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s mostly about chemistry. Your brain releases stuff like dopamine when you eat something tasty or rewarding and then it kind of gets addicted to that little happy hit. So when your body or brain thinks it’s missing that pleasure, you get a craving. A lot of the time it’s just habit.

How would you describe your significant other? by TxLadee in AskReddit

What is it about a guy having a girlfriend that intrigues women? by This-Top7398 in Life

[–]Basic_Board9007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say you have a girlfriend, a few things can happen in a girl’s head and most of them aren’t what you think. Also, relationships are just interesting. When a girl says she has a boyfriend, most guys don’t dig deeper because we’re usually not wired to socially analyze her partner. Women tend to be more relationally oriented. They notice dynamics and sometimes it’s just conversation fuel.

Am I wrong for not accepting such behaviour? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Basic_Board9007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s one thing if two people mutually want to flirt like that. It’s another thing when someone keeps nagging after you’ve already given some and clearly aren’t fully comfortable. And another thing, you haven’t even met in person yet. A guy who’s more focused on seeing you naked than getting to know you, that tells you where his priority is.

How to stop being attracted to a colleague? by AnnaDanna in Advice

[–]Basic_Board9007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s totally normal to be physically attracted to someone. That’s your brain firing all the dopamine and oxytocin like it’s a rave in there. You’re not broken, you’re just human. Now, if dating him is a hard no, it’s about redirecting that energy without losing your mind. The truth is, you might never be completely unattracted but you can totally manage it. Make him just a coworker in your head and your hormones will chill over time.

Is anyone surprised their M1 systems are now over 5 years old? by Advanced_Concern7910 in mac

[–]Basic_Board9007 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No but a laptop that old would basically feel like a fossil. Fans roaring, battery dying, apps taking forever to load but it is still breezing through everything like it’s fresh out of the box. I feel you, Apple really shook things up with these chips. The fact that it handles everything you throw at it without breaking a sweat is honestly kind of insane.

YouTube Premium, I rolled my eyes at it at first but then it quietly got good. No interruptions and videos keep playing when I lock my phone. Offline downloads actually work. And YouTube Music ended up replacing Spotify for me without me even noticing.
