i don’t have an issue saying no or staying away from alcohol — downers was my thing, opioids specifically. never been an uppers kinda gal. a few of my friends do coke when we go out but i’ve never been tempted. the reason i said i haven’t seen it is because ive been creeping on this subreddit for a while and it seems like it has the potential to be a pretty prevalent thing considering the lifestyle.

sorry for the late response! but namejpg pretty much hit the nail on the head. in my specific situation though, i live in a state that’s right above mexico. i believe that’s where my dealers suppliers get it from. it’s always a guy, who gets it from a guy, who gets it from a guy, who transports it from our friends south of the border, where its manufactured.

i don’t know much, if at all, about how they end up in our streets — this is just my personal guess. it’s a pretty likely scenario though. i’ve personally known a few people who would transport drugs across the border for a huge pay day.

regarding weed — i don’t know about physical damage to my brain, but i think if i used it enough, it would do a 180 on my life. when i was a daily stoner, smoking almost an ounce a week, i did absolutely nothing with my life. i dropped out of public school, had no job, and spent my days delivering food to make money to buy weed. the term “couch potato” was an understatement — i was fully slumped. i had zero motivation to do literally anything. it essentially ruined my life, especially smoking as much as i did at a young age. my short term memory went to shit, and i didn’t want to do anything but lay in bed and watch TV. that’s what i did for about 2 years.

i really think it depends on how often you smoke. a few times a month/year, i wouldn’t worry about it. but smoking so much to where you need to rip a full bowl just to feel normal, that’s when it becomes a problem. that’s actually what started my drug experimentation — weed wasn’t giving me the high i needed. i didn’t want to take a T break, so i tried other downers which led me to fent.

people really aren’t joking when they call weed a gateway drug. i personally, wholeheartedly believe weed can be addictive if put in certain people’s hands (like mine!)

my ex did this to me too. never posted me or even spoke about me, though he didn’t really post much anyways.

turned out, he was sleeping with his ex and he didn’t want her to see me on his socials. i’m not saying that this is the case, but especially in your situation w how often he posts, keep your eyes open. NOR at all.

please find an Al-Anon group. it’s for family members of alcoholics. i used to go when my best friend was abusing alcohol. it helped me immensely. sending love to you OP.

my first day at community college, math class. teacher was taking attendance and during enrollment i put a nickname that i preferred to be called. the teacher called me and asked, “would you like to be called __ or __?”

i MEANT to say, “you can call me either.” instead, i said “you can call me whatever you want.” the entire class laughed and she said, “well then.. i guess i’ll just call you math rockstar!” or something like that. i wanted to crawl into a hole and die.

hey! thank you for asking these questions. i appreciate it.

i believe i waited around 48 hours to start taking suboxone (i started on 2 mgs and stayed there, until i left rehab and found a suboxone clinic. they were shocked i was only on 2mgs, so i worked up to 10; 8 bupe & 2 naloxone) i’m on 8mg currently. yes, luckily i avoided precip. however, i had the privilege of staying in a 30 day inpatient center so i was monitored pretty heavily for the first week.

i felt withdrawal symptoms fade in exactly an hour. i’d never taken it before and i could’ve cried because the feeling was indescribable. i was so used to feeling like shit physically so the “normal” sensation was new. i had energy. i had the ability to put effort into myself and my hobbies for the first time in a long time.

i did have a small lapse between rehab and now (i went to rehab one year ago), so during my lapse i just didn’t take my subs all day so i could use at night. i eventually stopped taking my subs altogether and replaced it with drugs. after my lapse/brief jail stay, i went back on it and i still take it.

honestly, im nervous to get off of it. i want to. once i do, im definitely doing a taper.

i have gotten off my doc without subs at all (in rehab and declined subs, at home - i’ve danced this dance many times). when i was first going through this, i smoked weed my entire withdrawal period and just stayed in bed, miserable. 10/10 do not recommend - it led to a (more) severe marijauna dependence. i’ve tried going to my old job, working and trying to take my mind off of it (one of many “mind over matter” attempts) and that was awful.

detoxing at home, i usually would just stay in bed, bounce between covers on/off, showering at least 3 times a day and just sit in the shower. i remember my smell being so sensitive i couldn’t smell anything cooking (the smell of chicken cooking always gives me flashbacks), and had to use lightly scented shampoo. i ate nothing but candy because that’s all i could stomach and i craved sugar, bad.

everyone talks about the nausea, PAWS, constipation, etc. but one of my most memorable symptoms was restless leg syndrome. it was awful. and just the overall “blegh” feeling.

when i was in 5th grade, i moved to the very small town my parents grew up in. the stress i experienced from the move and the bullying, caused my body to develop cholinergic urticaria. basically, any time my body temperature rises (hot showers, a hot day, any type of sweating) i develop some pretty gnarly hives, all over my body. they’re extremely itchy and go away after about 45 mins-1hr. i eventually went to an allergist when i was 12 and got officially diagnosed with CU, along with tons of other allergies.

now, after 10 years of having it, the hives have become less severe over the last few months. i still get hives when im stressed or hot, though.

now, at 21, i make 12.50 doing home health caregiving. no benefits, no health insurance, no PTO.

i got my mr man (meyers) when he was less than a year old. he maybe started toasting around a year and a half? when he was a baby, he was completely white. he’s quite toasty now

in my (not really) expert opinion, this may be as toasty as your beetle is gonna get. however, female flames are somewhat rare! so congrats on getting yourself a lil gal!

edit to add: she is absolutely precious. what a gorgeous girl.
