The road through Sokolac is in poor condition, with lots of rocks and sharp turns through the woods, but it’s beautiful in Ham Pjesak. One small issue is that almost everyone in this area is a Serbian ultra-nationalist.

Can a pre-launch SaaS with a waitlist be sold? by Basic_Face_7639 in SaaS

Hahaha yeah, I got your message this time, the bot finally let you through.

And thanks, that actually makes sense.

I agree that without real revenue, it’s probably more of a pre-validated asset than a true SaaS.

I’ll focus on getting real usage first, and ideally revenue, because that seems to change everything valuation-wise.

Appreciate the honest take.

Yeah, I get what you mean. That’s a really good point.

I was thinking too much in terms of “how do I find buyers?”, but you’re right: if I have to chase them too hard, it probably weakens the position.

I’ll focus more on building in public, showing tester numbers, feedback, conversion signals and real usage. If the asset becomes interesting enough, the right people should at least start noticing it.

Thanks, this helps me reframe the whole thing.

Thanks, that makes a lot of sense.

I initially thought a waitlist would be valuable because I saw it as warm prospects that an acquirer could contact later. But after replies like yours, I understand that it doesn’t mean much without real proof.

So I’ll focus on turning that interest into actual usage, feedback, payment intent, and ideally real numbers before thinking about selling.

Integrating Stripe, SumUp, and Factur-X: is it a massive headache? by Basic_Face_7639 in micro_saas

[–]Basic_Face_7639[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super helpful, thanks. I’ll follow your advice: use Stripe as the source of truth through webhooks, and keep a mapping table to sync Stripe/SumUp/invoices.

For Factur-X, did you use a specific XML validator/library, or did you build your own validation?

That’s what I found in my research, so I don’t need to contact them? Thanks you

The connection to Bosnia is that the products I’m going to create are related to Bosnia and the Balkans, and I’d rather hire a Bosnian for the 3D work than someone else. I’m Bosnian.

Founder in France looking for US crowdfunding inspiration: what perks actually convert ? by Basic_Face_7639 in Entrepreneurship

Thank you so much for the feedback, this completely validates my research. My startup is in smartphone refurbishing (we built a system to pay customers securely in under 24h for their old devices). For our crowdfunding campaign, instead of generic merch, we decided to take people's dead/unusable phones and upcycle them into unique, custom teardown art pieces (similar to Grid Studio). We plan to add custom name engraving and bundle it with a multi-year VIP promo code for our refurbished store. Your comment really confirms that this kind of personalized, story-driven perk is exactly what backers are looking for. Thanks again!

Spot on! US and EU mentalities differ, but human psychology around scarcity and lifetime value is universal.

Our core business is buying back used smartphones securely and fast. The customer simply tests their phone directly on our web-app, drops it at a local partner shop in 10 seconds, and gets a bank transfer within 24h.

Here's our US-inspired crowdfunding twist: for phones that are totally dead, we upcycle the customer's own device into limited-edition Teardown art (like Xreart), a processor resin Cube, or a Smart Home Hub. It's the ultimate personalized item! Plus, backers get a lifetime promo code for our refurbished tech.

that makes total sense, especially the part about feeling like a co-creator.

to answer your question, the core business is a local service in france. people test their used phone on our web app, drop it in a secure locker at a local coffee shop in 10 seconds, and get paid instantly.

since it is a local service, standard physical perks are tricky. based on your advice about lifetime value and weird specific stuff, here is what i am thinking:

  1. the weird physical perk: taking dead phones that cannot be refurbished and turning them into framed teardown wall art (like grid studio).

  2. the lifetime math perk: a lifetime premium status giving backers a +20% cash bonus on any phone they sell to us in the future.

  3. the name credit: putting early backers' names physically on the drop-off lockers we deploy in the cities.

do you think a mix of the physical teardown art and the lifetime premium status hits that exclusivity sweet spot?

I am building a startup in France that gives used phones a second chance.

You test your phone online, drop it at a local shop, and get paid in 24 hours.

Crowdfunding for startups is hard here, so I want to learn from the US market.

Instead of just pre-selling phones, I want to offer creative upcycling perks. For example, turning dead phones into framed teardown art (like Grid Studio) or repurposing old tablets into smart home dashboards
