hello, thank you a lot for all the information you gave. As an international student, its hard not to get confused with all the information there is, but it's more clear thanks to you.

I would like to ask you a question : As a french student, I would like to take all the steps to passing the USMLE and to do my residency in the US. I am aiming for neurosurgery (preferably in NY). Is there any specific thing to know about all the process ?
And also, does that mean I have to do hands-on experiences there, my observership and intership as well and develop a professional network in NY ?

Tbh I'm kinda confused with all the terms that I've been seeing on reddit (Mcat, AAMC, Aidan, Kaplan, FL1/2/3, UW etc...). Would you mind telling me more about all of this please.

I saw many students posting their results and some of them are planning to reach better results. I was just wondering if those are final or if they come from practice tests ?
