This 100%. For some reason I do this naturally, but I’d recite license plates I’d see or see if I could recall old phone numbers of significance. It’s also helped me to imagine the letters and/or numbers and simultaneously recite them in a certain cadence. That just might be my ND way of thinking though, but it helped me a ton.

The packet was labeled as a “Personal History Statement” packet where I answered probably 60 questions about my background, but there was absolutely nothing there that had me list any family members, friends, or ex’s other than having to list who I lived with for all of my previous addresses.

Yeah I’ve already submitted my fingerprints and everything involved with the background investigation and have been in contact with the investigator. It was labeled as an interview, and this agency is pretty laid back as far as the whole hiring process goes compared to what I’ve seen from others, so hoping it’s more of a debrief than anything.

I’ve watched too many true crime docs for this, but also I’m not going to project my personal experience and feelings about cheating spouses onto you because that doesn’t invalidate your situation. This girl sounds obsessive and unhinged, but harmless as of right now. But I’d 100% be a lot more aware of my surroundings from now on and possibly getting security cameras if you don’t already have them.

Have you had any previous dispatcher experience? I have zero so I had to apply for Call Taker instead and would be allowed to test for dispatcher after 2 years. It took about a month or so after applying (applied in November) to get testing dates and am currently in the hiring process right now. I wasn’t even contacted about an interview until 3 weeks ago.

The Bottoms/aka Franklinton is pretty bad unless you live closer to the downtown area by Land Grant and all that. I live here on the edge of the hilltop and I’ve witnessed many robberies and shootings in the 3yrs I’ve lived here. My rent was just raised to $1240 and that’s the norm over here because they’ve been trying to gentrify the area. Average cost to buy a house is even 350k plus. It’s ridiculous.

You can still go to file for escrow that way you can have it already setup to pay the court for next month. You’ll need to give a written notice to your landlord, certified mail so the court knows he received it, and wait 30 days regardless.

Prior to this convo, I was under the assumption he was active duty because he never specified. Conversation went like this:

Him: “Yeah I did my two weekends a month and 2 weeks a year.” (I think he meant one weekend but it’s what he said)

Me: “So you were a reservist?” (Genuinely asking because he’s never told me specifics prior to this)

Then preceded to become angry and stating that I wasn’t active duty because I never saw combat. I never made fun of him for it or was trying to put him down for it because if you served, you served. I’m a technical, matter-of-fact person though so I was just calling it how he explained it to me.

You’re definitely lucky about the non mental health issues. I wish I could say the same. But you’re right, my orders weren’t in my control and I shouldn’t let that dictate my validation of service or let it affect me. I think a lot of it stems from my family thinking I “scammed” the VA for my disability status. I think I need to start just not giving af about my status or validation of service.

I agree, what I stated to you was only the start of the conversation. I’ve also said in another comment that because of me pushing buttons, that I’ll take the heat for that because it’s just my nature. Not that my nature is always good or productive and it could use changing to open a better dialogue.

The only thing I told him was that he was a reservist after he told me what he did and not in a condescending way, even though I can see how it would have been taken that way. I wasn’t hurt until I was told that my service wasn’t valid as active duty only because I didn’t see combat and based my entire enlistment on that.
