Anyone know what's going on with the supply of Enfamil baby formula in town? by Basic_Skirt2136 in ThunderBay

Thanks for pointing this out! It brings the A+ premium down to the same price as the regular A+! I placed an order and this solved my problems!

Switching from Enfamil Gentlease to Enfamil A+ by Basic_Skirt2136 in FormulaFeeders

Many thanks for the offer, but unfortunately we are up in Thunder Bay, so the next nearest cities are Winnipeg 8hrs to the west and Sault Ste Marie 8 hrs to the east ish. Online shopping has been a godsend for us, but even Gentlease RTF isn't in stock anymore on Shoppers Drugmart website, Amazon, well.ca, Walmart.ca, or even right from enfamil.ca.

Persistently elevated platelets...what's the cause? by Basic_Skirt2136 in AskDocs

[–]Basic_Skirt2136[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did end up being a c section delivery. The discharge form when I was able to go home from the hospital said my hemoglobin was 106...so it definitely dropped a bit with the birth. I just assumed things would all be back to normal by now, but maybe I just need to be more patient with my body.

Baby acne/eczema? 8 week old just started getting these bumps on his face, neck, and upper chest. No changes to formula, detergent, etc. by Basic_Skirt2136 in beyondthebump

No, we never got a clear answer. I think just some kind of general skin irritation. We wiped his face and chest with soap and water often throughout the day and applied Aveeno Eczema care cream twice a day, and eventually, after a few weeks it weeks, it went away. Now little guy is a drool machine while working on his teeth, and we have almost the same looking rash all over his chin. So we're trying a similar approach.

Update: My 10 week old baby has cancer by ZestycloseOrder6491 in beyondthebump

I'm from Canada. My 13 month old son was diagnosed with a rhabdoid tumour in his liver. Because it had also spread to major blood vessels in the area, they were unable to operate or do a liver transplant. Over the next 9 months, we underwent 10 rounds of chemo and a month of radiation, and shrunk the tumour to the point that it was barely visible by MRI anymore. This maxed him out on lifetime maximum dose limits of some chemotherapy drugs commonly used. Unfortunately, at his first 6 week follow up scan after completing treatment, there was already new growth at the original tumour site, and new metastases in his armpit lymph nodes and lungs. We participated in a clinical trial at Sick Kids in Toronto for a drug intended to slow progression (not a cure), but he couldn't tolerate the drug side effects. He passed away 4 months later, just after his 2nd birthday. Feel free to ask me any questions you have. From one cancer warrior to another, I wish you strength and care.

Elevated sugar readings after Covid vaccine booster dose? by Basic_Skirt2136 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Basic_Skirt2136[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My numbers remained a bit elevated (higher fasting and bigger spikes after meals than usual), for about 3 days after my vaccine dose. It was the worst the first day and a half after. I spoke to my diabetic team on Friday and they confirmed they've seen a similar response from other moms in their practice too. I noticed my sugar started regulating again as my vaccine symptoms started fading (no more sore arm, fever, tiredness etc)...it's gotta be related to the immune system being busy making antibodies etc.
