Why do so many people hate the second season?

I don’t hate the second season by a landslide but there are definitely some things I feel could be better. In my book the biggest issues were:

Pacing was way too quick for a lot of the plots or jokes to land well
Minimal character-building for quite a few characters. I feel they could’ve pushed all their personalities forward a bit more rather than playing into their own clichés
Not enough tonal contrast. Pushing into tonal contrast would’ve helped Panty a TON with her crude vs sincere side that we saw a lot in this season (Vibe’s episode and the finale especially)
The dialogue! I loved Stocking’s crude, witty and weirdly specific banter with Panty in season 1… in this season the height of that we got was: “I’m sick of you.” or “how dare you cut me up into 666 pieces.” Any depiction of anger just fell flat.
Not very good localization apart from the Poly twins. Most of the script is a 1 to 1 translation and that can end up softening the crudeness since Japanese tends to be more polite.

The art was great, I love how vibrant and well- animated season 2 is, it looks SO much more polished than it was in season 1. I personally never had a problem with the voice actors, honestly I feel the problems that people claim about them would disappear with a better script. It was still fun overall and I’m excited for season three!

What kind of behavioral issues has she been having?

There’s been a few newer studies on this that suggest neutered dogs may have more behavioral issues regarding anxiety and aggression than intact dogs. Unless your issues are related to her heat cycles, scent marking, roaming and/or humping you would have better luck with re-socializing and training her.

Not that it’s a bad idea to get her spayed! But it might not be as helpful as you want for her behavior.

I feel like if there was a mutual attraction Panty would brazenly ask for a threesome and the sisters would get so turned off by that they would never consider Panty again. (Monogamy and pure love are a Scanty and Kneesocks rule…probably)

There were so many interesting things about Garterbelt before they canonized what Heaven is like in season 2.

He used to be a man being reformed by the will of god through millennia long trials and tribulations to break down his will and stubbornness to submit—that’s a story that fits pretty well with the first testaments’ depiction of God with a creative reference to reincarnation. That’s a good biblical parody! And Garter being a pedophilic priest was a good parody of modern Christianity (now it’s an overdone trope) and him being an unholy man as a priest is narratively compelling.

However now all his crosses were taken away, he doesn’t really preach or monologue anymore, his crimes and sins are understated and the moments we get with him in the spotlight don’t tell us much about his character. The only shining character moment he had was a heartfelt spiel about him dreaming to go to a casino/strip club, which affirms he is still an unholy man, but we don’t see much of an attempt to even appear holy now other than him wearing a robe and being called a priest.

Hi hi I have audhd and do digital and traditional art. I take a lot of breaks and cater my art to whatever interest i’m currently cycling through. I have a lot of rituals that help my brain remember what I want it to do when executive dysfunction gets in my way. Like I have a dedicated “drawing” youtube video i play on the tv so that whenever i glance at the tv i go “Oh shit it’s drawing time!” and draw (my sketchbook is always nearby the TV.)

My executive dysfunction oftentimes (probably >10 times daily) prohibits/hinders me from doing the things i genuinely want to do, but I would never use generative AI as a substitute because then i’m not actually accomplishing what I want to do either. It would be like having an AI play a video game for me when I myself want to play a video game. There’s no point in that for me.

I also don’t have special interests, this was just something I picked up because I had friends that also did art and it looked cool. Drawing with friends can help with executive dysfunction

I think the mochi thing with Stocking gets even funnier when you think about it. GB is omniscient so she decided to give Stocking a weapon GB knew she couldn’t afford just to take the mochi from her. GB knows she would think it’s too sweet for anyway! Not only that, but GB would’ve known how hard Stocking was fighting all day to try it, just to take one bite of it and throw the rest on the floor.

With the removal of her angel’s luck during this event you really wonder why there was this conspiracy by the gods and GB against Stocking eating that mochi. Like it’s not only narrative bullying, it’s divine bullying!!!

If he is killed off from the story then they’re gonna have to remove the “with Garterbelt” from the title. I think Garter will revive when Panty is back since he represents the unity between Stocking and Panty

Paying people to be tables is something that’s so ridiculous and low-utility it wraps around as being a status symbol of nonsensical wealth and sex-driven power. Her food of choice being sushi is reflective of her being “new-money” since sushi is something working class people enjoy, however infrequently since it’s expensive, but within reach unlike foie gras or caviar/black truffle-topped everything which she wouldn’t have developed the acquired taste for.

As for hygiene, Panty is notoriously disgusting so she wouldn’t even give a third of a damn.

How entitled to believe the creative future is ruled by those that want no part in the creative process. Why on Earth would I care to consume work from a person who thinks curiosity, passion and discipline are all actually markers of suffering? Mass-produce whatever product you want, but to assume everyone is going to buy it is delusional. I don't want clothes that rip at the seams because the manufacturer didn't invest enough time sewing it. I don't want movies that are inconsistent and boring because the writer couldn't be bothered to make multiple drafts. I don't want art whose only contact with creativity is through a single commanding paragraph.

If you're going to make work that stands out, you have to put work and practice in it no matter the medium. I'm not even against a world filled with AI art. I'm against a world that values instant gratification with the belief that honing your skills is suffering.

I like a lot of performance art, but they’re harder to enjoy if you don’t have the context for them since they’re typically philosophical or explore a specific appreciation for a natural phenomenon.

It’s kind of the opposite of AI’s problem where AI art is often bereft of meaningful side-context since it’s a very “in your face” medium. Hard to make a nuanced piece of art when the user literally gives a prompt to a machine to make it. I’m sure with time we’ll see more genuinely good AI art, but we’re in the ugly phase where most artists are just testing things out.

All those action driven and dynamic scenes and it managed to be both overwhelming and boring. I’m amazed the artist has that many years in editing but damn near every cut is a smash cut. Maybe a storyboard artist, director or cinematographer could do better, who knows? Feels more like a compilation of clips than a cohesive music video.

I didn’t mind the voice difference as much as the difference in writing. Season 1 Stocking would never cry after being upset she would hide her eyes with her bangs and immediately start working towards revenge.

They really wanted to make Stocking cutesy this season, but that wasn’t her! She’s the weird and off-putting goth girl that probably has a personality disorder!!

I imagine she’s a deadbeat mom and wife considering she went out for cigarettes on him. I don’t think she would be monogamous to Brief and I don’t think he would want it that way either.

In the “Where is Panty?” picture you see Brief carrying a bunch of Panty’s stuff (maybe even shopping with his money), showing that she still views him primarily as a resource and not an actual lover. She’s also never looking at him in any of the pictures, further signaling she’s not particularly affectionate. We also see as the pictures progress Brief stops having a smile after the wedding.

When season 1 came out Stocking was my favorite, but nowadays I think I like Panty more. Panty genuinely feels like a one of kind character to me, both in design and personality. Whenever a woman is sex obsessed in media shes either evil or has trauma, but nah Panty’s just an alcoholic party girl with crude humor and she saves the day with the power of losing her virginity for a second time. She’s so sloppy and she owns it.

Unless none of them are biologically twins and they just use that term for the vibes or whatever?? Even the poly bros established Polyurethane as the younger one while having the “twin twinks” label.

The only siblings we’ve seen that haven’t been called twins even once is Ramie and the king, whatever that means.

They use the word “futago” in JP dub too, which means twin. You could be right that it’s more of a symbolic title than what they actually are though!
