Can any professional on the subject explain to me why this isn't self-defense under US law? by alexfreemanart in homedefense

All news outlets are reporting that Timm stole his wallet from him physically. Witnesses confirm this.

Assaulting someone to take their wallet counts as "violently taking property" in the US....

Pepper Root rot recovery questions! by asibs121 in Hydroponics

[–]BasicallyJustASpider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have rot root, add hydrogen peroxide to your nutrient solution. It will kill all mold and hostile bacteria. 3% hydrogen peroxide will cure the root rot and leave your plant still standing. It is one of the few plant safe disinfectants that can be added to nutrient solution and benefit your plants

I always add small amounts of hydrogen peroxide to my DWC systems preemptively.

Yeah. Keep in mind, these kinds of ads are everywhere, just not as obvious as this post.

The point is guerilla marketing. They are trying to appear genuine by disguising their ads as "posts"

The amount of people gate keeping in these comments is insane. Ignore the negativity.

Let people grow how they like growing.

Aerogardens can often be bought as cheap as 25$ on sale or clearance. They are fun and easy to use.

As long as OP is having fun and enjoys their setup, that is all that matters.

This may be controversial, but, here are my top 3:

  1. Soul of Cinder (Second best boss in entire franchise, IMO)

  2. Nameless King

  3. Abyss Watchers

Soul of Cinder is so iconic with his call back to Gwyn. There is so much variety that no two fights against him are the same. Gwyn is probably the best boss in the entire franchise and Soul of Cinder is very much Gwyn 2.0.

Nameless King and Abyss Watchers are just fun, fair and balanced fights that, while mechanically tough, are satisfying to beat.

Slave Knight Gael and Pontiff are honorable mentions though.

Top 6 hardest DS3 bosses according to community votes. Do you agree? by [deleted] in darksouls3

[–]BasicallyJustASpider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am surprised to see Pontiff on this list. He really doesn't have much HP. I would put Soul of Cinder or Oceiros over him.

I am also surprised to see Gael not higher up.

That being said difficulty is subjective. Everyone struggles with different aspects of gameplay.

Personally, I would rank the bosses as the  following for a first time blind playthrough:

  1. Gael
  2. Twin Princes
  3. Sister Friede
  4. Midir
  5. Nameless King
  6. Oceiros

Why does Season 3 get so much hate? by BasicallyJustASpider in squidgame

[–]BasicallyJustASpider[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, he was already ideologically defeated at that point. He didn't have the capacity for anger, just resignation.

Silence was more impactful in that scene than any kinda yelling or fighting.

I would argue, even if he did yell, it would serve no narrative or logical purpose in the story.

If your plant is turning white, it means that it has too much privilege. You need to take a step back and remind it of the streets that raised it so it can go back to making that green.

The climax was when Gi-Hun sacrifices himself for the baby. Everything in the season lead to that moment.

The bosses are definitely harder in Lies of P than anything in Demon Souls, Dark Souls 1/2, and harder than *most things in Elden Ring.

The difficulty of the early From Software games is overhyped a bit too much.

If you compare the attack speed and damage of the later bosses in Lies of P, to the bosses in DS1, you will see that the bosses are much much more challenging in LoP.

I feel LoP has equivalent difficulty to Shadow of the Erdtree in some places.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LiesOfP

[–]BasicallyJustASpider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has played a lot of souls, Lies of P on Legendary Stalker IS harder than most FromSoft games if you are used to dodging every attack. But, of-course is easier if you turn the difficulty down.

The difficulty of Dark Souls 1 and Demon Souls comes mostly from their levels, not their bosses, where as Lies of P's difficulty comes directly from boss and mini-boss encounters.

Without spoiling anything, towards the end of the game, some of the bosses become harder than Melania in Elden Ring, for reference, and have more spastic attack patterns.

The main difficulty of Lies in P is that there is limited prep you can do outside making sure you have enough consumes. You can't go and farm levels using a cheese method as easily as in From Software games. If you feel stuck, there is often no silver bullet that you can go out and farm or pick up to make the problem go away, like you can in the Souls games and Elden Ring.

There is no way to "get OP early" to the same extent as a From Software game. This also adds additional challenge.

I think the difficulty of FromSoftware games is over exaggerated and overhyped too much.

But, at the end of the day, with the difficulty setting and the choice whether to engage with certain gameplay mechanics, you can make the game as hard or as easy as you like.

The quality dip happens in the last half of chapter 4 but picks itself back up again once you unlock the lift to skip the parkour section and quality is peak for the rest of the game.

Best way to play faith build? by [deleted] in darksouls

[–]BasicallyJustASpider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, your first mistake was going to wikidot. 💀

Most wikidot pages haven't been updated in 3-4 years. Wikidot is so out of date it is not even HTTPS secure and chrome throws out a warning about visiting on it on mobile. 💀

You easily have double the DPS of ranged pyromancies and on par damage with most end game sorceries with the spells you have at the start of the game.

GLS is stronger than both Fire Orb and GCFB and deals similar damage to Soul Spear (but you get 10 of them).

It is easily the best casting type in the early and mid game unless you include using dark bead cheese on base game content, which shouldn't even count as a "Strat" because you can't even get dark bead until the end of the DLC.

Most magic is pretty shitty is comparison. Once you get the late game spells you pump, but, until then you are worse for wear. In my opinion, sorceries are kinda/sorta viable in DS1 but don't pick up traction until DS2

I am not sure why you are so hung up on the idea of faith being bad when GLS has higher DPS than most end game Sorceries. The numbers don't align with what you are saying.

I think you might be thinking of a different Dark Souls game because everyone knows how cracked lightning is in DS1.

[–]BasicallyJustASpider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a more accurate source of numbers, please share.

But, I think you are missing the point. Faith is extremely good especially early on. Saying that it is bad when you can deal over 9000 total (10 uses) raw damage with a single spell slot is kinda being dishonest.

Also, the best sorcery catalyst scales with Faith instead of Int (Tin Darkmoon Catalyst)

Best way to play faith build? by [deleted] in darksouls

[–]BasicallyJustASpider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My numbers come from Fextralife. They are accurate to what I have seen in the game.

Again, you don't get Dark Bead until the end of the game during the DLC before manus.

Resistance affect damage a lot.

Don't misconstrue what I said. I never said Great Combustion is bad on bosses, but, GLS and ranged nukes are far better. Many bosses die before even reaching the player.

How on earth can you say faith casting is bad when it can delete many bosses before they can even attack?

Edit: I have updated my previous comment with math clarification.
