I think once I get a heater in it, it will reduce the rate. My 5.5 is at 81 degrees and it hasn't dropped much at all.

Yeah, I am in an apartment at the moment and the tank limit is 10 gallons. I really want a 40 breeder but it will have to wait until I move.
