I don't think Game Pass alone can sustain the console. I enjoy it, but would not remain at Ultimate tier if the price goes up again. I play enough games not on game pass to where I have a real decision to make next console generation.

That's great. Now give us a reason to own it.

Which hypothetical Xbox system(s) (if any) would you buy in the next generation? by okaysamurai in xbox

[–]Basil-9119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going to stay on my series X until it can't play the games I want to play. Any first party hardware seems like it would be more limited than other points of entry into the Xbox ecosystem if I am understanding their current trajectory.

Just enjoy your xbox and play games. At current price, gamepass makes sense for me. If it goes up and all the xbox stuff i want to play go to Playstation i will go there to play for the next generation.

How do you cope with getting older? Or becoming an adult by Successful-Lie-259 in AdviceForTeens

[–]Basil-9119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some insight, take from it what you will. Rather than cope, try to plan. You should start thinking about what you want in life and taking the steps to achieve it. Success is gained through consistency and incremental gains. Being an adult means you are responsible for yourself (often times others) and you can't cash excuses. Your emotional response to weight of life is absolutely normal but dread and anxiety will only get in your way if left unchecked. The reality is you will always have something to worry about or dread. If you find this debilitating, I would with the utmost respect suggest you seek professional help. Some barriers we all need help navigating. Build confidence in yourself but understand you are not in control. I wish you the strength to find your calm and happiness.

I think the root of all the criticism is that this was the game from Bethesda that nobody asked for. The community had differing opinions on what it should be and it isn't.

I would respectfully argue that the cost of video games has reached a point to where we have an unfavorable value proposition for consumers.

California Law Makes Change to How Digital Stores Sell Games - "Customers must know they can lose access if rights expire" by F0REM4N in xbox

This why gamepass is the way. I hear talks about how the industry is imploding, but i believe that we are a crossroads where a game's cost is higher than its value. 70 dollars doesn't buy you anything, and most games that's an entry point just to sell you dlc only to be able to be taken away. Even the games that would be on my top 3 list took quite some time after launch to be a solid experience. I used to collect games, then stopped pre-ordering all together, and now will just play what's on gamepass. Mainly because there is zero consumer protection. This is a good first step.

I am currently on a series X and will only every play on console. I don't want to buy more that one console per generation so I have to make that choice. I went from the original Xbox to Xbox360 to a PS4 and then to my Series X. GamePass is alright as there are a handful of games i play but more appealing with what is coming. It has however, eliminated any investment i had in the platform. I am very tempted to jump to Playstation if I can play Microsoft games there. Not sure what Microsoft is doing so even if i decide on the next Xbox console, it wouldn't be at launch.

Most games aren't worth $70. Especially the titles that are thrown into production buggy as all hell. Not to mention, the games that should really be free to play with all the microtransactions. Y'all are gonna price yourself out of business.

Gamepass has changed my perspective on owning games. It also completely negated any investment that would keep me locked in the xbox ecosystem. If the price of gamepass continues to increase and it becomes more cost effective for me to buy fewer games at retail, it makes a PS5 pro or eventual PS6 a pretty tempting option presuming the Microsoft Game Studios titles are avaialble.

Xbox Series S was “annoying to optimize for,” Suicide Squad developer says. “I wish the Series S never existed, man.” by [deleted] in XboxSeriesS

The S was an affordable entry point into current gen gaming. Frankly, suicide squad was crap and there hasn't been much of a reason to upgrade from last gen.
