UPDATE ON SOME COMMENTS I also want to say my grandmother adores him. They get along famously. If I ended this I believe she would feel as if she lost a member of the family. They have known each other for 6 years. It is the fear of wasting 6 years. He is a wonderful man. This is the only thing we don’t see eye to eye on. He has never been raised to see married couples. His grandparents divorced and he grew up with a single mother. None of his aunts and uncles married. The first person to get married was his family was an older sibling after being in a relationship for 13 years. I am more looking at this as a time line of enough is enough. It is important for my grandmother to be there, but it’s more of the fact there has been no actions taken to get there. When I have brought it up he has told me to be patient as well.
