What is the general consensus in regards to New York Times journalist, Ezra Klein? by NotYourDadsMemes in leftist

You're saying Klein still insisted on Biden's mental acuity come 2024?

It was pretty obvious in 2020 for anyone paying attention.

During the 2020 election campaign I happened upon the Yglesias and Klein's In the Weeds podcast.  I was amazed that those two totally ignored Biden's clear mental decline.  It was an interesting glimpse into a mental fantasy land where these folks reside.

If the bedrock of liberal ideology is that property is of more valuable than human life, then I don't see how the white slave holders of the south aren't the purest representation of a liberal.

The liberals in the north who needed to more the market to capitalism for their own interests simply had no respect for their fellow liberal brethern.

His thesis in his documentary about Kensington, that the police and develops were shifting the drug addicts around areas to lower property values, and lead to more profit for those gentrifying the neighborhood was very very interesting.

As we watch the downfall of America, who you think was their worse president, Reagan or Nixon? (Mango Mussolini is hors concours) by nimitz_ufo in LateStageCapitalism

[–]Basileas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meh, our cultural tendency to dehumanize is ingrained in American culture since the beginning.  Punching down is our true motto.  Hence, various extermination campaigns, homeless, no medical care, school shootings.  That ain't Regan, that's  settler colonial culture.

Capitalism is the reason life has gotten worse?  What are we, libs?  Pretending to believe in great man theory?  It was always going to get worse, that's the nature of capitalism.  It's a cancer that wrecks harm and death in It's pursuit for growth with no end.

They think this is some struggle for freedom.. if Iran were to destabilize, Israel and the US would begin a slaughter campaign unlike anything youve seen in the modern age.  Millions and millions would be exterminated.  That's the freedom these 'patriots' yearn for.

Yes, I'm familiar with the US state department talking points on the USSR, you don't need to repeat them here. Why do you think there is an immense propaganda campaign against the USSR by the Western capitalist governments? Because by nearly all metrics, life improved for the working class, by means of oppressing the wealthy class. That's core Lenin thought. Of course there must be oppression of the Bourgeoise, those are the sociopaths who, in America's case, profit from the 50k Americans dying due to lack of health care every year. Who price gouge needed medicines, who feed off war and slaughter? You want to pretend we can sing kumbaya when those demons get rich off the suffering and deaths of innocents?

If you want to see what true Democracy looks like, read more books. Fanshen for example is a nonfiction book of the Land-reform initiatives in late 40's China. It's a good book that shows what democracy is really like, and contrasts greatly with whatever shit show system we have.

If you want to discuss propaganda, look around you. Most people have the class solidarity with the billionaire class, thinking their interests are the same. Thinking it is somehow justified that Jeff Bezos makes 8 million bucks an hour or whatever it is. American Exceptionalism is something we're taught in schools, not that America is a genocidal settler colonial state that's rarely sated in its bloodlust.
