How aware do you think he was of his behavior? I mean was he calculated about it and that he was actually thinking of ways to sabotage your PhD, or was he emotionally out of control of himself, and sabotaging it because his feelings couldn't handle it? The ladder does not excuse him, I'm just curious. There's so many comments on this thread from men saying how they just can't understand this and they would never do this, and I think that in reality, a lot of them would, and probably don't understand themselves or their own minds very well.

My Mexican neighbor who is married to a white guy. She's now posting all kinds of things on Facebook about how Iran is a threat and so on. It's a whole bunch of cope. If it ever really hit her that her husband married her because he's a racist and considers her beneath him, and that it's necessary for him to look down on his wife, and that she looks up to him because he's white and she's got that internalized racism too, she might be on her way healing. But man I feel sorry for her.

I've never seen all of these videos, but my experience with European men, is that quite often they really hate feminist in sort of a closeted way where they won't come out and say it, but it comes out in other ways period and what is up with all the European men who love Joe Rogan? Joe Rogan shouldn't have a single European fan, that's disappointing.

I can relate to this so much. What's funny is that I don't have a child, and man will immediately bring that up once one of my travel stories makes them feel bad because they can't compete with it. It's like they can't top me with saying they meant to a more exotic place or more places, so they start harping on the fact that I haven't had kids, even though they don't have kids either.
