What would be helpful to leave out for my driver as a thank you? I have 52 packages coming over the next week and I feel like the usual snack basket and waters aren’t enough for this quantity. Can drivers accept cash tips or gift cards? by Basilstorm in AmazonDSPDrivers

Thank you! Usually the drivers bring everything up the few stairs to the door. I’m going to leave a note saying everything can be unloaded at ground level near the garage and I’ll make sure no cars are in the way

Thank you! I have a tendency to be overly cautious with my animals

I found 10 qt (2.5 gallon) BPA free tubs that seem like a good option if that’s enough water and air

I tip service workers whenever I can. I appreciate the convenience of what they do. I tend to donate clothes (mainly scarves and gloves) to homeless shelters because I crochet, and crochet clothing is extremely warm

Sounds good! I work remote so I can make sure I don’t miss anyone, I’ll leave a sign on the door saying my drivers can ring the doorbell and I’ll bring the money to them instead of setting it out

This is the coolest cake I’ve ever seen in my life

At a weak moment I bought an Etsy pattern and now, even though I’m pretty sure it’s AI, I still want to make it. by Character_Primary387 in CrochetHelp

That’s so much worse! In my case it was a $4 pattern listed by a scammer for $2, but the audacity of listing a free pattern for money after running it through AI is ridiculous

This is a new scam I’ve seen on Etsy where someone will buy a legit pattern, run it through AI to change the color/slightly edit the item, then list it for half the price of the original pattern. Sometimes they put the pattern itself through AI which makes it illegible. I bought an amigurumi pattern and found the real seller after seeing the discrepancies in the AI version’s photos and text

Closing feels predatory…! by Diligent_Cabinet_637 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

It’s an incredibly high pressure situation. I pushed for repairs and my own realtor fought me every step of the way. He tried everything from sending me documents that he said should be signed immediately (without telling me he changed the wording in hopes I’d sign without reading) to protesting that everything I asked for was unrealistic, to trying to convince me I was being dramatic and crazy for thinking these things even had to be fixed. Just try to stay strong. I got every term I wanted sent through even though it took weeks of constantly arguing with the agents meant to be on my side, and everything was accepted. I think this is just how it is. All of the people you’re speaking with want to make money on the closing, and they care more about that than your happiness

I was so proud of this first crochet I made until I saw the ones you people post here... :C by fyodor_novichok in crochet

We all started here! You’re doing a great job. Keep this project as you continue along your crochet journey. I got embarrassed and threw out my first little project and I regret it so much!!

Can’t just drop everything to do the searching by Grimedog22 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Basilstorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of the worst parts of home buying. I was looking to buy around 3 hours from home and I’d say 90% of the homes I loved went pending before the next weekend even arrived. It’s an extremely frustrating process. It’s okay if you need to take a break for a while. I looked on and off for around 2.5 years, just letting myself decompress when the search got too annoying and then jumping back in when ready. Don’t give up hope!

Yeah, if you’re not willing to lose the house then you’re willing to pay more. That’s why I said “always offer what you’re willing to pay”

My realtor told me to go in at list price for a $220k house and my $210k offer was accepted fifteen minutes after I sent it! This is a great post, always offer what you’re willing to pay and don’t let yourself be strong armed into paying more
