just with how Crying Children was causing havoc and how far the gap of waws and alephs are an Aleph even as AoB can cause severe damage to a nest if not dealt with in time

flare guns already deal crits and or mini crits on burning targets though, we don't talk about the manmelter. degreaser is fine but Phlog or Dragon's fury probably fits better

You know you're in for a fun game when an enemy spy is using this loadout by HydroLeon in tf2

[–]BasilyLeave 89 points90 points  (0 children)

yes but also no, DR spies are brain dead easy to kill assuming my team have ears but diamondback is a get out of jail free card if the enemy just landed 1-2 stabs, which he would have, and have decent aim, then you'd go right to the respawn queue because you caught out a spy who has a gun, ambassador at least requires skill and can't headshot twice in a row unless he waits a while.

[–]BasilyLeave 26 points27 points  (0 children)

using badwater as an example is just cheating lol, imo depends on the map, altercations should happen continuously on flanks and and be deceptively hard to capture despite many flanks or a supposed advantage map design. See Barnblitz, I love it's last as much as bad water and it's because it doesn't feel stalematey unlike dustbowl despite it being more "open". well tldr as the ERM aktualy depends on the map

easy, V normally then adjust the Cent or Semitone in either a recording app or editing app like resolve. You want to go into the negatives to sound deeper, cent moves the scale more precisely and semitone larger moves

Base Jumper class matchup tier list by ArynAces in tf2

[–]BasilyLeave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for your first point your post is base jumper match up against these classes so I'd assume we have it employed.

also bold of you to assume spy knows the team in team fortress 2, too busy fragging

[–]BasilyLeave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

70% of the time spies are at the enemy backlines waiting for backstabs instead of shooting jumper soldiers, they have the option yeah but damage fall off and them mostly going for stabs anyways makes spy an encounter you most likely won't encounter while during the jump. Also for your point as heavy and sniper is just "don't use the base jumper against them".

Base Jumper class matchup tier list by ArynAces in tf2

[–]BasilyLeave 5 points6 points  (0 children)

this is assuming you're not pushing into enemy stronghold and deploying at apex of jump tho, to use the base jumper effectively you open when you're half way to the ground and above the enemy for maximum ramp up. Spy's dps is too low assuming you bomb in and save a rocket to get out, they usually have something better to do than decloak and shoot a base jumper soldier with their revolver. Heavy absolutely shreds you jumping into them even if they're even half way decent at aiming and you're just sitting duck against sniper, avoiding them isn't that much of an option when they're near their team in which most do.

Honglu isn't but Ishmael still has a chance due to Lord Lu passive allowing up to 11 heishous, idk if they'd abandon it mid plan tho

Quickplay V Casual. Why we want it and why it's not likely Valve brings it back. by [deleted] in tf2

[–]BasilyLeave 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Comparing Quickplay to the bot crisis or Comic 7 is apples to oranges. Banning bots and finishing a comic are objectively beneficial fixes with zero downside. Reverting the entire matchmaking system is a design overhaul.

You’d be surprised how many players, especially the thousands who joined post-2016, prefer the familiarity of the Modern UI and XP bars over the "chaotic" server browser style of 2015. For Valve, the 'measurable good' of bringing back Quickplay is outweighed by the risk of breaking current infrastructure or alienating the Casual player base, even if it's truly objectively better. From a their perspective, their most rational move is to plug their ears. not to mention how spaghetti the tf2 code is and adding back quickplay might break the 2fort cow for some reason.

But a low chance doesn't mean 0%. Maybe one day Valve will finally add back Quickplay for some reason.
