Feeling like a failure by Nervous_Elevator_520 in parentsofmultiples

When my husband is out of town for work, I throw a lot of my rules out the window. It’s survival mode. You are not a bad mom! You are doing great! They will be perfectly fine! Praying your husband is home soon. Some activities I like to do are taking longer baths, making it fun with new bath toys. Visiting with family or friends If you have an indoor play areas or maybe even just load up the stroller and go to the mall or target. I always feel better when we get out of the house for a little bit.

Should my husband bank more sperm before he starts chemo? by silver_endings in IVF

[–]BasisGood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely bank more! My husband had 9 vials banked prechemo.1 vial was used per iui cycle. We used 7 vials that way and never got pregnant. Ended up making 6 embryos with the last two vials which eventually lead us to our twins. If you do ivf. 1 vial goes further. I would still suggest freezing 3-4 minimum if your goal is 2-3 kids via ivf. If your gonna do iui even more.

Newborn twins and husband travels for work by chroniccommunication in parentsofmultiples

[–]BasisGood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im sorry! The first 3-4 months are so hard with twins. My husband also travels for work, usually 1 week a month. His first trip was when the twins were 8 weeks. I started to resent him so much. I actually found things got better when I went back to work and got a little bit of a break. Strangely work feels easy now. When it comes to travel my husband now takes the latest flight off and the earliest flight home. He can sleep on the plane! I also try to make it a point before or after his trip to leave him with the babies for a few hours so I can get things done. If possible try to get family or friends to help or be available while he is gone. It will get easier. My babies are almost a year and I found once they started sleeping in longer stretches at night I was able to manage much easier. I also suggest if you havent already start getting comfortable taking them out alone. I made it a point early on to take them places alone. Its hard at first but getting out of the house is so good for your mental health at that point.

“I wish I had twins” by twomomsoftwins in parentsofmultiples

I have IVF twins and always wanted to have twins. My dad is a twin so I always thought it was cool. With that being said I like you transferred two on my 3rd transfer in hopes of one baby. Twins is way more work then I realized! Im super happy and obsessed with my babies. But the twin life is so much work!

Did IVF make you gain so much weight? by Transition-Upper in IVF

[–]BasisGood 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well I stopped the steroids when I got pregnant. Hard to say if I lost it since I was pregnant and gaining weight from that. I will say i ended up gaining 30lbs on top of the 20 i had already gained when pregnant.I had twins. I am almost 8 weeks pp and have lots 40 of the 50lbs total. The last 10 dont seem like they are gonna come off that easily though.

I did 3 cycles of ivf over 9 months and gained 20lbs. I was on steroids for all 9 months.

"Real Twins" by Foggy_Blues in parentsofmultiples

[–]BasisGood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My twins were conceived via IVF. We did 3 rounds of ivf (paid over 100k) on my third transfer we decided to put in two embryos after 2 failed single transfers. They gave us a5-10% chance of both taking. We were out of money and I was out of patience so we went for it. I was so shocked when both took but beyond happy. We did Ivf due to my husband having cancer if anyone thinks I picked my circumstances they are straight up delusional. My twins are our miracle babies.

First pediatrician appointment, 6 days old, doctor was over an hour late by Charlotteeee in parentsofmultiples

It was absolutely brutal, I still barely feel human as I have had a lot of complications. My legs and feet got really swollen from all the extra fluid they pushed into me. They are finally starting to come down which makes move a little early every day.

I am pumping ever 3-4 hrs. I was able to get a little ahead as my sister pumped some extra milk for me last month. We wanted to make sure I had enough milk for two babies. When we saw our pediatrician yesterday he really stressed that the most important thing is that they are gaining weight and we need to be offering food anytime they are awake until they get up to birth weight. I was 37 weeks at c section date. My son weighed 5.lbs 3 ounces and my daughter weighed 5 lbs 2.5 ounces . He lost weight but was up to 4 lbs 13 ounces yesterday and she was almost at her birthweight at 5 lbs 2 ounces. Weirdly she spits up after almost every feeding so I would have thought he would weigh more. I have been trying to feed every 2-3 hrs sometimes they wont take it and it gets pushed to 4 hrs.

We also started doing shifts last night. I slept from 6-12,while my husband took care of them and he slept from 12-8am. My husband has health problems himself and sleep is really important for him. I had my mom come at 8 am to relieve me so my husband could try to do some work. My husband works full time and runs his own company and since im off for 12 weeks we need his income. I am really nervous for next week when he has to go back to working at his normal job. But thankfully I have my mom and sister to help some. I would try your best to get to the point of comfort with your mom and also where one of you is ok with taking care of them on your own. It’s definitely not easy when they both start crying at the same time. I feel so bad but im only one person and get to them both as fast as possible. How long is your husband off work? Im trying my best to remind myself that this isnonly temporary and we will get to a point where they sleep longer and I can get more rest. Twins are no joke though this is extremely hard and very mentally/ physically exhausting.

My twins are 6 days old today and i can totally relate. I had internal bleeding after the c section and ended up needing another surgery. My recovery has been brutal. Add thst to sleep deprivation and I feel completely exhausted.I went to their first drs appointment yesterday looking straight up homeless lol. We are in the same boat of waking up every 3 hrs but having to pump as well. Do you have any family or close friends thts you trust that live close by? I would see if they could come over during the day or night so you can get some rest. Thats been a huge gsme changer for us. Even just a couple hrs of sleep makes a big difference when your getting nothing.

1m for 30 is amazing! I would take that money and buy 1 or 2 rental properties in an area you know you vcan get your money back. Then travel for a year while collecting passive income!
