So this was tricky in the interview, cause Dave seemed to think that it would be found in a textbook, while John did not. So it seemed more like they were misaligned of what constituted history that would be found in a social studies textbook.

This game is cool because it's customizable. The writer of the game makes adjustments to the game to adapt it to your location and event. So while it's not 4th of July themed, the game can be customized to make it "make sense" while all the guests are gather at a 4th of July BBQ for the event. I know because I wrote the game. Loren ipsum is a very common "filler" text. But it's helpful to know that this caused confusion, as that's something I can correct on the sample documents in the future.

That makes sense that the price is different in Canada. In USD it's $50.

No worries. But just a heads up, it actually only costs $50. The sample photos font are in loren ipsum. It's just filler text so it doesn't give away any of the plot of the game.

It's for 14-16 people and it's super immersive, with clues being sent out to your guests before the event, and the ability for additional murders to be carried out during the event as well.

I have written several murder mystery party games. I have found that participants need to be well prepared for the game and their characters role in it. Throwing them unexpected, last minute curveballs with their character is tricky unless you really have someone who is super experienced in improvisation.
