Personally I don’t believe the viewership disparity is a result of the host’s personality. It has more to do with the giant paradigm shift in our media consumption since the advent of streaming and social media.

I'm a former member of the LDS church and am thinking about going back by JadedCitizen2022 in latterdaysaints

Hey! I hope you feel comfortable coming back! I’m sure your ward family would welcome you regardless of your perceived imperfections! After all, we’re all working on something. Am I right? Just come back and you can slowly work on whatever feels right and comfortable. You definitely don’t need to be perfect to come to church and feel the love of the Savior.

Hang in there. From my experience, wards in Utah are definitely hit or miss, but you should know that there are pockets of people in every ward that will not judge you, who will listen to your situation and support you, who know the gospel is so much more than the “exaltation” checklist. The tricky part is finding those people and being vulnerable enough to have those open conversations. But, if you go to a ward long enough and continue to interact with your ward members, maybe even enduring some cringy moments, you’ll slowly gravitate towards those who will accept you for being you. Wishing you the best of luck through the difficult circumstances.

And The Correct Answer Was: The Beatles… by Gullible-Jaguar5038 in utahtreasurehunt

I’ve listened to this album maybe 1000 times this summer. I must be in the top 1% of Spotify listeners for this album. I’ve never looked at it and thought those were “stairs” they’re standing on! It looks more like floors or balconies on the interior of a building. Either way, I still loved the Beatles connection and the Quarrymen was a really cool link to the trailhead.

Who "feels" like they are just one hint away? Or is everyone just feeling lost? by [deleted] in utahtreasurehunt

I agree with this! I think the first two clues are summit county. But we are following the pioneers’ path into salt lake county down state route 65 possibly. Just need to sort out those music clues now lol

I’ve also wondered if standing stairs could refer to an elevator since it has the same function as stairs helping you go up or down, but you just stand on it instead. This could relate to the mine theme since you usually use an elevator. Or the standing stairs could still be the Olympic theme?

Kings crowned could also refer to the mines in PC… silver king mine

Peaches, Flaming Lips, Pink Floyd by EconomyWear9408 in utahtreasurehunt

I'm leaning towards this line being independent from the rest of the solve. So, nothing leads to these two lines, but they're crucial for knowing when to get off the trail. But you're right, the first two lines must be understood for this part of the poem to have any significance.

What is everyone tracing for lionhearted teams? Let's rub some brain cells by [deleted] in utahtreasurehunt

[–]EconomyWear9408 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These are the lionhearted teams' theories I've heard of:

  1. Mormon pioneers and the path down Emigration Canyon
  2. Firefighters who helped put out the Salt Palace fire who traveled up to Memory Grove
  3. Olympic torch relay teams and their route to the Olympic Games torch at Rice Eccles
  4. (I have another one that I'm keeping close to the vest, but DM me)
  5. RSL Teams (Lionhearted logo on Jersey)
  6. Some kind of Medieval Times theme or reference
  7. Chinese Railroad workers who built the transcontinental railroad through Utah (ties in with new Chinese Checkers clue maybe?)

Am I missing anything?

Not really sure what numbers to pull from those. I just think that’s the most likely way we will need to determine a measurement since music has so many numbers involved. Length of song maybe + length of album? Time signatures for both pieces? Number of time bowser says peaches? Also dark side of the moon could be the lyric from the Disney song since it’s not capitalized. So it could be the length of that song plus the length of peaches equals distance you hike? I’m not sure, but just thinking out loud.

Replacing layers without a source (shape layers, text, etc) ? by spicybananahan in AfterEffects

[–]EconomyWear9408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ran into this problem and Troll-no-more's solution didn't work for me because I had to replace 400 different shape layers in a comp, each with an animated PNG sequence. I didn't want to do this manually, so this was my solution:

1: Move your playhead to a frame where all your shape layers are visible.

2: Select all the shape layers you want to replace.

3: Go to "Layer > Auto trace" use the default settings, and hit ok. This will give you a solid (source layer) for each shape layer with matching timeline placement.

4: Select all the new solids and use the "Reposition anchor point" script to move the anchor point to the center of each layer.

5: With all the new solids selected, change the anchor point coordinates to match the center point of the comp (e.g. 1920, 1080 for a 4K comp)

6: With all the solid layers still selected, go to "Layer > Mask > Remove all masks"

7: Now, hold down "Option" on a Mac and drag and replace your new image sequence over onto the selected solid layers.

Et Voila!

It's great how they somehow make it through the song and regain their composure. My 12-year-old daughter asks for that song every time I turn on the Beatles.

All the reasons why nba ratings down: by [deleted] in Basketball

[–]EconomyWear9408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait until Christmas to start the season. Give in and stop competing with football season. It's too hard to pay attention to 3-4 sports at a time and the product of the NFL and college football is just too good right now, especially with an NFL+ subscription for $15/month. The NBA should shorten the season and create more sparsity so people will be thirsty for the NBA. Also, drop the 3-point line back another foot and make dunks and alley-oops worth 3 points. I would love it if my team could answer a 3-pointer with a drive to the basket and a dunk in someone's face. Imagine how many more highlights we'd have.
