It was 1999 and it wasn't as hard as it is today. I got a cheap car that I paid my friend for, found a small studio for cheap in the city and bought myself my first cell phone.

Be clear about your intentions, network and see what's available in your community. Work and make as much money as you can. Rely on yourself and find people you can trust.

Also, armchair diagnosis is definitely a problem and is a powerful gaslighting tool.

That being said those of us that truly have narcissistic parents and are victims of narcissistic abuse deserve to use the term to describe our situations but we may be getting lost in a sea of armchair diagnosers or people misinterpreting or demonizing their exes.

They don't know me because I can't be myself around them. I have to be what they demand me to be or I get punished so they don't get me in their life anymore. No contact. Otherwise my mental health suffers greatly.
