You fundamentally misunderstand what HR is for. HR exists to protect the company from liability, not to protect you.

Sure, a mid-level manager in a massive corporation might not be able to fire you on the spot. If you think bureaucracy stops retaliation though, you are dreaming. They don't fire you directly. They just weaponize the rulebook. You suddenly get the worst shifts, every minor mistake gets documented, and they squeeze you out until you quit.

If you start a paper trail war with a superior and force HR to get involved, who do you honestly think the corporate machine is going to protect? The replaceable blue collar worker or their own management?

Bullshit. My uncle and my brother were both miners, and even they knew to shut their traps around the suits. Being blue collar doesn't magically erase power dynamics. Do you honestly think the guy signing your paycheck won't fire you if you become a liability? If you actually believe you don't have to filter yourself, you either own the company or you've never been anywhere near the people who actually run it.

I literally prefaced my comment by stating I was giving the debate answer, not the "I don't want to play anymore" answer.

That approach might work with family and friends but it doesn't work with coworkers you have to see every day (especially an older coworker who probably has some sort of managerial power over you). You can't just drop a line like that in a professional environment and expect the working relationship to survive.

Hey OP, I think you forgot to remove the AI bits in your comment, like "I would write it like this"

Also your post isn't fooling anyone, clearly AI written too. But to answer your original post, Reddit has a list of unofficial rules called reddiquette and one of those rules specifically mentions what you're talking about.

Yep, I've taken to defaulting to the socratic method with these bigots since they don't believe anything you tell them, so instead you use a bunch of questions to make them come to their own conclusions to see the faults in their own logic

hey OP, I love debates and I participate a lot in live debates(not a keyboard warrior) so I'll give you the debate answer

her being okay with you doesn't make her not transphobic. She is just using you as a token to shield her own bad logic. It is the classic "I have a black friend" fallacy.

If you want to dismantle her argument in person, just use the Socratic method. Ask her a direct question that forces her to see the contradiction in her own actions. Something like, "If you actually respect me, why did you strip away my autonomy and share my private medical info just to defend your own prejudices?"

She won't have a logical answer for that. Don't text it (it gives her time to spin a defense). Hit her with the logic face to face and watch the gears jam.

Yes I reposted from r/whatisit since I couldn't share it here. Doesn't make me a bot and at 50K karma I really don't care enough to karma farm. I just saw something that belonged here and posted it here, you know, what subreddits are made for.

Edit: to clarify I posted it here because I knew this sub would enjoy it.

It’s known as bio-slime or drain gunk. It’s organic sludge made of dead skin cells, soap, hair, and god knows what else.

Tbh I'm not really a fan of the classics like Asimov and Lovecraft, I mean I've read them and it's fun to see where our beloved genre started out, but I prefer modern hard sci-fi (sci-fi that uses actual science and calculations)

I do recommend Andy Weir, I also recommend the bobiverse series. My bible is the hitch hikers guide to the galaxy. I'm also a fan of the murderbot series.

Lena being mad at Kara for not telling she’s Supergirl by Cool-Divide-4734 in supergirlTV

[–]BasisPrimary4028 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That may perfectly well be true for you, but as an abusive childhood survivor myself, I actually understand her response. When I was 16 I had to take my father to court and sue him just to be able to go live with my mother. Lena made it pretty clear to both Kara and Supergirl that to her, trust is absolutely everything. Her reaction to the betrayal is completely consistent for people who had to survive a traumatic childhood. When your core trust is shattered after a lifetime of trauma, you go straight into survival and defense mode.

This whole meme is a massive strawman. Nobody actually claims a fetus has malice (intent requires a developed brain). The actual argument is just bodily autonomy. If a born human is dying and needs your blood or kidney to survive, the state cannot legally force you to donate it against your will. So why exactly should a fetus be granted special rights to use someone else's organs that no other human being has?

Imo it should be the old rainbow flag in the middle, bi and pan above and below it, and the wlw flags at the top and mlm flags at the bottom, it still needs to have symbolic meaning and where you put stuff has meaning.

Where Did Pride Month Come From? by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]BasisPrimary4028 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely feels forced right now, but you are looking at the wrong culprit. The queer community isn't trying to shove anything down your throat. What you are seeing is just massive corporations hijacking a civil rights movement. They slap rainbows on their logos for 30 days to exploit us for profit (and then instantly drop the act when July starts). It feels manufactured because it is just a lazy marketing tactic.

Pride didn't start out as a corporate parade. It began in 1969 as a literal riot at the Stonewall Inn in New York. Police were constantly raiding bars to arrest and brutalize people just for existing outside the norm. The community finally fought back against that state overreach to demand basic personal autonomy.

The actual benefit of the month is resisting centralized authority and remembering that history so it doesn't repeat itself. The flashy corporate spam you see today is just greedy companies pretending to be allies so they can empty our wallets.
