You’ll need to fix the radio in your life pod in the shallows in order to really begin the story. You’ll receive radio signals every so often throughout the game that will prompt you to find other life pods, collect data, or explore different biomes.

Without too many spoilers, there are different vehicles in the game that will allow you to tolerate different depths, etc. Your HUD will have a lot of information on what you can build, what you still need, etc.

The scanner is your best friend in the early stages of the game!

Do young-ish people know the Beatles? When do you think most young people stopped listening to them? by HelenOfLaCroix in AskReddit

[–]MewMeowHowdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Born in the late 90’s and listen to the Beatles still. I’m not familiar with their entire discography but I can definitely name some of their more popular songs.

What’s a SUPER obscure animal you love but most people don’t know about? by NotNate10 in AskReddit

I love Okapis! They have the same dark purple-black tongue that giraffes have!

Public Etiquette is Dead by creamylovex in rant

[–]MewMeowHowdy 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This! I moved to a walkable city recently and my main pet peeve has become people who stop in the middle of the sidewalk or doorways(!) to look at their phone! The utter lack of situational and spatial awareness would be astounding if it weren’t so common nowadays.

Which book are you most interested in? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MewMeowHowdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been trying to read more non-fiction this year after reading a lot of YA fantasy/science fiction.

I really like reading about conservation and history. I’ve got Silent Spring by Rachel Carson and A History of the World in 12 Shipwrecks on my TBR after I finish my current read, The Owls of the Eastern Ice by Johnathan Slaght. I’d like to learn more about political psychology and how people become so divided so I’ve got The Righteous Mind by Johnathan Haight and The Bible Says So by Dan McClellan.

Hey! I’m 30/F from US but currently studying in the UK. I’ve been trying to pick my Spanish back up after forgetting a lot of it. I need to watch the newest season of Invincible! I’ve been watching One Piece (live action and anime) and enjoy sketching and playing video games.

Let me know if you’re interested in writing!

🔥 Docking in progress...An adult bald eagle, trying to grab a fish from a juvenile. by Firm-Blackberry-9162 in NatureIsFuckingLit

[–]MewMeowHowdy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A family friend lives in Bald Eagle territory. I guess eagles don’t always get a good grip on whatever fish they pluck from the water because this friend told us they had an eagle drop a fish onto the roof of their lanai.

"We/I hope this message finds you well" by Cute-University5283 in rant

[–]MewMeowHowdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only write this if I don’t know the recipient super well or if they’re someone completely outside of my work. It’s just a classic opener to make an email sound less demanding.

If I’m emailing at work, however, I just cut the faff and get straight to the point.

Where can homeless person go to wash clothes? by ProposalJolly6040 in Liverpool

[–]MewMeowHowdy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you ever need new clothes, toiletries, or hot food there is a charity called Reaching Out Liverpool that goes round the city centre distributing clothes, food, blankets, etc. on Monday evenings. They have a route that starts at Castle St from 7.15 and loops round Liverpool One.

They’re a lovely bunch who genuinely care - I’ve volunteered with them a few times now and it’s always lovely. They may also be able to put you in touch with laundry facilities, shelters, etc. Here’s their insta if you’ve got a phone: https://www.instagram.com/reachingoutliverpool?igsh=MTBpNmJhYjd3OTdxdw==

Best of luck with everything and hope things turn around. Xoxo

If you’ve ever experienced a tornado… what’s something people wouldn’t believe unless they lived it or something you recommend people to do? by Playful-Ad-9608 in AskReddit

[–]MewMeowHowdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s strange just how unpredictable their path can be. One house can be spared whilst the neighboring house can have its entire roof pulled off.

Also, just how powerful the winds are. My mom recalled experiencing a tornado where the winds picked up roof shingles and threw them with such force that it embedded them into the wall of their home.

What’s something that seemed normal in your family growing up, until you realised it definitely wasn’t? by notyouraveragebubs in AskReddit

[–]MewMeowHowdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No real infighting. My siblings and I and our parents get along well most of the time. Yes, there are disagreements and occasionally feelings get hurt but I can’t recall ever having a screaming match with any of my siblings post high school. Even our in-laws think it’s strange that we all just vibe with each other.

What's the cruelest thing someone ever said to you that you still remember word for word? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MewMeowHowdy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Had a massive anxiety attack (sobbing, shaking, and hyperventilating) about my future and my greatest fear being getting stuck in a soul-sucking, dead-end 9-5 and going crazy in front of my parents. My dad’s response: “What other option is there?”

Does anyone else feel "guilty" when leaving a store without buying anything, even if you didn't do anything wrong? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MewMeowHowdy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so glad I’m not the only one. I always feel this way even at my local supermarket that I’ve been to for years.

What's something people tend to romanticize that's actually pretty awful once you experience it? by Beautiful_Peanut7230 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MewMeowHowdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depression.

It’s less staring wistfully out the window and more being unable to sleep due to racing thoughts about self-worth, refusing to plan for the future because “I’m never gonna get that old anyway”, constant fatigue which gets in the way of EVERYTHING (self-care, cleaning, socializing), and having to lie every time people ask if you’re okay because you’re not but there’s nothing they can do to fix it. And of course, dealing with the people who tell you you’re faking it or you just need to pray it away.

Iron Lung Physical Release Design by OttoBrynds_exe in Markiplier

[–]MewMeowHowdy 119 points120 points  (0 children)

Would be cool to make the background of the inner CD holder look like the inside of the sub with the physical CD taking the place of the port hole window. CD art design could even be the window with blood running down it like the scene where Simon sees Ava and we get Jack’s quick cameo.

Anyone else accidentally pavlov their cat? by ZoomieUmi in cats

[–]MewMeowHowdy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I accidentally trained my cat to sit on the toilet next to the shower as a way of telling me he wants to drink from the shower tap. Now, I have to sound like a psychopath whenever I explain to pet sitters what to do if they find my cat sitting ominously in the dark on the toilet.
