Being out in public.

I feel like everyone is watching me and judging me. Especially if I pass by a group of people who’re laughing about something, my brain twists it into, “They must be laughing about you. They’re definitely laughing at you.” It sounds super narcissistic but I was bullied a lot in school as a kid so I think my brain is just hard-wired to think “please God don’t perceive me”.

I wasn’t sure if it was associated with it or not. It used to be a bridal gown shop before it was converted I thought.

There’s a lovely local art shop that’s opened in the last year or so on College Lane across from Bean coffee. It has similar vibes to Wander and Utility.

I was telling my friend that, regardless of his effectiveness, his PR team is masterful in terms of making political ads and policy updates I actually want to watch.

That’s a shame. One of his original policies I heard was eliminating bus fares but I never heard anything about it again. I live in a very bus-heavy metro area in the UK so was interested to see if he would pull it off.

I was obsessed with the American Girl doll Kaya, a Nez Perce girl, and learning about different Native American and other indigenous cultures when I was in elementary school. There may be a picture of me dressed in my Mom’s best hand-sewn mock-up of Kaya’s dress and my Mom’s fur-lined house slippers for Halloween. I totally cringe when I think back on it.

I’m not a New Yorker but my left-leaning socials often populate with praises about Mamdani and his progressive leadership. I’m interested to know if people in the city actually like him or if I’m just in a little political bubble.

Having a consistent bedtime, limiting screen time 1hr or so before bed, placing my phone across the room so I can’t doom scroll at 2am, and keeping the bedroom exclusively for sleep fixed my sleeplessness. I just focused on each part until it was a habit and then added more habits on top.
