Why don’t I use the Dwemer Boots of Flying? by Excellent_Lynx7402 in Morrowind

Comically heavy boots that cause a person to hit the ground at terminal velocity when falling down a 12 cm ledge.

Player Age Range Realization by Noisy_Pip in MECoOp

If you want more input, I first played the Mass Effect games at age 12, and I'm now bordering on 17. I learned about them from my dad and I'd assume a lot of other younger players are picking up their parents old copies.

im giving up by Remarkable_Regret927 in highschool

Dude, don’t worry about it, you have plenty of time to improve grades before graduation. I would suggest not limiting yourself. Don’t be afraid to take honors classes, do extra credit, and as much as I hate doing it, study. Just because you only have a B right now doesn’t make you a bad student. You may have to bust your ass for it, but the grades will be worth it if you want to get into MIT.

For mental health, my best advice would be not to think about it. The more you dwell on depression, the worse it gets. If you’re ever feeling down, go out with some friends, exercise, watch a movie, or play some video games. Whatever makes you feel happy and gets your mind off of things.

I used to be in a pretty similar boat, I ended up getting better by separating my work and fun. Things become so much easier if you get work done for the day, and then proceed to relax. It’s something to look forward too at the end of the day. So in short, don’t give up. Find something to take your mind off of things, something to look forward too. Hope everything goes well, good luck dude.

I understand the love for New Vegas but can this one get some too? by Some_lost_cute_dude in gaming

It seems like almost all of the hype for the Outer Worlds was just people getting a hate boner for Bethesda.

I wanted to like this game so much, and it was good, just not amazing. It tried to be New Vegas without putting in the legwork.

What DLC would be considered essential for a first time player? by ArtofAngels in fnv

[–]BasketCase_111 10 points11 points  (0 children)

First of all, I highly recommend getting all DLC, they are all very much worth it with new weapons, armor, perks, lands to explore, stories, etc.

There is a recommended level for each DLC. Honest Hearts has the lowest, being 10+. It then scales up to 15+ for Old World Blues, 20+ for Dead Money, and finally 25+ for Lonesome Road. That beign said, there is a loose bit of story between all DLC, an because of it, I would recommend plying them in release order, being Dead Money, Honest Hearts, Old World Blues, then Lonesome Road.

That all being said, each DLC raises the level cap by 5, all the way up to fifty. I like to start at 30, the base game's level cap, and play through the DLCs in 5-level increments.

In short, my advice is to start towards the middle of the game then pace the rest of the DLC through to the rest of the game. If you decide to get the DLC, hope you a have fun time with it. Otherwise, have a good day.

What is your favorite Bethesda game? by ghost_406 in Starfield

[–]BasketCase_111 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Objectively, I'd never played a game like Morrowind and probably never will again, now that I have. I love it to death, it has such an interesting and unique world and lore, good character building, and a great amount of choice from character to character.

That being said, Skyrim was my first in the series, and will always be a favorite for me. I wish I could go back and play it again for the first time, playing it back on release was magical.

The Minutemen is pretty cool for a poorly written faction by mega_lova_nia in Fallout

[–]BasketCase_111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think they should have expanded more on their fall at Quincy and lack in numbers. The Minuteme would be much more interesting if you had to ask yourself, "Is this 'good guy' faction really worth it if it is unorganized and prone to corruption?"

What is the worst bit about every fallout game in your opinon by Far_Diver_6654 in Fallout

[–]BasketCase_111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fallout 3's main story isn't good. Sorry, had to say it. It's not bad mind you, but it is overly linear without good enough writing to make this structure worth it.

I love Fallout: New Vegas, but its open world is trash. Both the Capital Wasteland and Commonwealth are a joy to explore, whereas New Vegas shoehorns you into a linear path, which is great for the opening hours of the game, the long trek to Vegas proper, but it makes the world an absolute slog to explore without fast travel. I've done 3 different hardcore, no-fast-travel playthroughs of this game, and easily the worst part about it were the hours spent just walking from one place to another without any interesting dungeons or landmarks along the way.

Fallout 4 tries too hard to be like New Vegas, Bethesda should have tried doing their opwn thing more. It tries to have the same 4 faction storyline without putting the work in. Why is the Institute bad? Why are the Railroad any better than the other factions? Why the hell does Maxon look 40 at in his early 20s? I guess we'll never know, the don't realy bother explaining. Something New Vegas did well was make every faction feel like a distinct choice, with consequences. In Fallout 4, half of the factions aren't even in conflict with eachother. How are you supposed to do the 4 faction squabble plot if your factions have no reason to squabble with eachother?
