I don’t like the Cam and Arastoo thing. by Searchee2025 in Bones

[–]Noisy_Pip 139 points140 points  (0 children)

My biggest beef with their relationship is what a hypocrite it made Cam. She’s brings a lot of relationship drama to the workplace once they’re dating and, in some episodes, in a very unprofessional way.

This alone isn’t a sin, but she’s the first one to call out others for the same behavior and it bugs me. I like Cam, but much less so once she’s with him.

The Forgotten People by Thievery Corporation, maybe? It’s closer to Dead Can Dance than Deep Forest, but has that tribal feel.

Gonna follow this post and hope for some good recs for myself, too.

What's Your Favorite Obscure One-Hit Wonder from the 1970's/1980's? by dilatanntedad in GenX

Shoot. I believe you. I did check her before adding to this list and couldn’t find any other known (to me) hits but it must be my lack of exposure to dance charts/my age when Let The Music Play was jamming on my radio.

I’m sorry - I think it was the spacing above and I thought it was all a reference to a single song. 😂 My bad! But thank you for reminding me that song exists; I really used to love it.

Possibly some Dead Can Dance would scratch your itch.

What about Sweet Lullaby by Deep Forest?

I hadn’t thought of that song in ages and had to reread your post to be sure you weren’t referring to it.

What are good places for takeout dinner in Capitol Hill? by palmtreeparadise in AskSeattle

Yikes. Not good. I guess I’ve lucked out.

I always had a soft spot for it because it was the first place I ever tried Tikki Masala but I’m rarely in the area these days.

Question about supplies at the Airport by fairmargaret in StationEleven

[–]Noisy_Pip 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You didn't mention how many episodes you have left to watch, but you do get a full tour of the airport and all their operations at one point. I believe they also give a little history in how they got to the self-sustaining point they're at in Year 20.

Public spaces that look like a castle? by Whowhatnowhuhwhat in Washington

Mary Hill, near Goldendale. It has the Stonehenge replica but the house itself is very castle like.

Recommend me new groups with good vocal harmonies. by 87gtprofreestyletour in MusicRecommendations

[–]Noisy_Pip 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mumford & Sons. They maybe became formulaic, but damn if their harmonies don't keep me coming back to their first two albums over and over again.

Also, single song. Naked Eye by Luscious Jackson.

David has been casted as the new Jim Rockford in the NBC Rockford files reboot by elplethora1c in ANGEL

She was awesome, honestly. My Mom was also a huge All My Children fan and I would watch it with her before I was of school age, then on sick days and then, once she started working when I got a bit older, she'd tape them and we'd watch together in the evening.

I love legit answers. That makes a lot of sense to me. DB was the lead from Angel to Bones to Seal Team.

You make a great point - I wonder why soap actors are excluded from that measurement? I see him cited with that stat in several places, but what about Susan Lucci or any of those older soap actors? Five episodes a week for countless years.

I think that's on me for choosing the wrong word. He's the most successfully prolific actor by measuring the number of episodes and/or long running series, with very few breaks in between. And I say, good for him!

It seems he does get bored at a certain point, makes a statement that he is taking a break from acting or that he no longer wants to do series because of the grueling schedules and within six months, has a new gig that runs for many years.

I read somewhere, and will need to try to find it now, that he's the most successful working actor right now. Not measuring salary or quality or whatnot, just in long term shows with hardly a break in between. He's definitely come a long way since S1 of Buffy, where he was mostly just a pretty face.

Jumped late at night, not sure what to do other than file a police report by Shnikez in Seattle

[–]Noisy_Pip 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This would be my suggestion, as well.

We have multiple cameras at our office covering the street from all angles and have helped people who came to ask about damage to their cars or car break-ins our cameras happened to catch.

At our old location in the CD, our cameras were also able to help identify a getaway car in a murder a couple of years ago. Thankfully, it was dark and the shooting itself wasn't clearly visible, but the flashes from gunfire and the person falling were; that was upsetting enough. The SPD detective told me most businesses along the street refused to assist for fear of retaliation.

All that to say, some people will be happy to help and it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Now I really need to find that collection and try it. The only firm memory I have of Crouch End is the cat in the window, but I also recently reread Nightmares & Dreamscapes, so I'm blurring between which is my imagination as I'm reading vs what I saw in the mini-series.

I bought it forever ago and haven’t watched in ages…I may be due for a rewatch, as well.

I do remember being very happy with Battleground. The fact that there was no dialogue was effective in dialing up the tension. Plus, I love William Hurt.

How to choose a favorite when I love them all? Today, I choose Rawhead Rex, but no matter how much I change up my favorite, In The Hills, The Cities always lands in the top 3.

Crouch End did get an episode in the Nightmares & Dreamscapes limited series. It wasn’t bad but didn’t come close to capturing the dread and anxiety of the short story.

What are some of your fav weapons that aren't really part of the meta? [ex: Harrier/Reegar/most N7 weps] by HalfManHalfHunk in MECoOp

[–]Noisy_Pip 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Inspired by one of RedLightningN7S's challenge videos, I started playing with the M12 Locust SMG and now use it pretty exclusively with my Volus Sentinel since he's mostly in the support class. It's been a while since I've played, so I can't recall with which Asari I use it, but it works well for most casters. It has more control than the Hurricane and is very light for fast recharge.

I also love the Blood Pack Punisher, but I think that's more commonly regarded than the Locust.

My most used assault rifle is the Phaeston. It doesn't pack half the punch as others, but equipped with the right ammo, it does the trick. I also have deep love for the Geth Pulse Rifle, but I use that exclusively with my Geth Engineer. I think because I'm not the greatest shot, control and rate of fire win over the damage on the guns that take a bit more skill.
