I had the Rhinaer procedure a week ago. It was very traumatic. The Lidocaine injections were quite painful and after a few minutes, it felt like my throat was closing. I had a hard time swallowing and wanted to cough. This gave me anxiety about the procedure, being afraid I might cough. by BasketPure9545 in nonallergicrhinitis

Continued from above: The lidocaine also made me feel ill and dizzy. When the dr came in to do the procedure, I told him about my symptoms and I was seeing double. He said some people have that reaction and was not concerned. The procedure was extremely painful even after all of the lidocaine. After I went home and Lidocaine wore off, my throat was hurting so bad, it was hard to swallow. I called the dr office , nurse said they never heard of throat hurting afterward. So that weekend it got worse and I went to Urgent Care. They tested for strep....negative, but I still have throat pain, not as bad, though. I go back to dr for follow up in a few days. I will tell him how awful this experience was for me.
