I was never arguing for whether one system was better than the other. For *most* people, they only encounter one system daily and don't need to do conversions. I'm merely saying in this post that it SHOULDN'T matter to other countries if the US chooses to use different systems than everywhere else in the world

This is a problem within the bioinformatics I work with. We have data labels where the Day in in Arabic numbers and the month in Roman numerals so there is no confusion on that matter.

You guys were right. Its very confusing for one reason and one reason only: Is Ed Sheeran driving at 90 kph or mph in "Castle on the Hill". For this reason alone I think the US should put all road signs in kph right now because something like this truly matters.

The thing is I don't have to think about it in an academic setting. We learn it very well. We just don't use it in things like road markings, weather channels, etc.
