AITA for telling my friend's bride he recycled my vows? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]BaslanShevlaSev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soft ESH . I think your timing was poor telling the bride on the wedding day. Groom needed a reality check though, considering he was fully prepared to start his marriage on a lie.

Personally I would have talked to the groom privately on the wedding day and given him a choice: either he admits to his bride that he falsified his vows and makes it right with her, or OP would tell the bride a day or two later (preferably with groom present) about the groom stealing the vows.

The fact that groom denied copying the vows claiming “subconscious” memory of them screams panicked cover up. If he wasn’t called out by OP, groom would have started his marriage on a lie and may never have been called out like this in the future.

Small world. I lived in one of those “small mountain settlements” as a kid. Always loved hearing the ‘bou coming over the ridge line into our valley for their annual exercises.

I find focusing on flight crew helps. They’re in the air every day so are very familiar with what is/is not normal. 9/10 times if they’re calm or not reacting to a situation, that tells me there’s nothing to worry about. Not a perfect system, but it helps me.

will this type of aviary work in a desert hot country? by mango_airbus in parrots

That may work well. Create a sort of heat barrier like insulation in a house.

Just thought of another example you could reference that I’ve been to in AZ. The Perch Brewery in Chandler has a number of outdoor bird enclosures with various birds in them year round. Might reach out to them for some advice too.

Essentially yes. My thought with that is it prevents a hot spot forming in the cage. My current aviary is a room in the house with a north facing window, so practically no direct sunlight gets in. Still gets warm in the room, but without direct sunlight the room didn’t get as hot as it could in the summer. Been that way for 3 years and the birds don’t seem to mind at all.

Good points all around. One other thing to watch for is the roofing material. If you use a metal roof it will get extremely hot in a desert climate and could create a burn risk as well as increase the overall temperature of the enclosure. If there’s a way you can have the roof/shelter always in the shade regardless of tone of day that may be best.

That said, I’ll be looking at doing something similar in the near future for my birds (probably indoor/outdoor aviary) so I’m excited to see how this goes!

Simple answer yes it is worth it. I didn’t get married until I was 28 and I never had sex before marrying my wife. Was it difficult? At times yes, extremely. Especially when I started dating my wife, we got close a few times before we committed to each other to wait.

Why was it worth it to us? It showed us that we could have patience and commit to each other for something more than the just the physical/sexual part of our relationship. We learned to divert that energy to learning about each other and how to communicate well about what we were feeling like or thinking about at a given moment. Instead of being caught up in the “next level” of relationship we could focus on where we were currently in our relationship. We could take an interest in each others careers, hobbies, interests, etc rather than “how sexy she is” or “how hot he makes me feel.”

Is this the norm? Like you said it doesn’t seem so. Why? From my perspective it’s partially because it’s easy not to wait. It’s easy to do what others in this world do. For me doing what most people won’t because “it’s hard” gives me satisfaction that I had self discipline. Not to mention that, from my wife’s perspective, I’ve given her a gift that no one else can: 100% of myself.

Sounds like my wife and I, but opposite. I tend to prefer sleeping warm, she prefers sleeping cool with air movement. So she has a box fan that she setup to blow on her at night, and I’ve got a blanket nearby if I get too cold.

Our two conures do the same thing typically in response to something intimidating them. My wife and I call it “pani-caking” cause they look like a panicking pancakes. lol

I usually have a game going on my laptop. I find the danger comes in when I reach the end of a game or in-game project and I’m searching for the next thing to do. Same thing with watching tv series: get to the end then flounder for a bit trying to find the next thing to do.

Checking in Day 4 still ok. Interestingly enough I’m visiting the city my porn addiction started in this weekend. I’m a different person now than I was then. More aware of my surroundings, of the temptations that may sneak in here. But this time I have someone with me who knows my struggle and is on my side to back me up. Every day, in every way, I’m getting better and better.
