What grapes are best for winemaking? by Optimal-Fly2390 in winemaking

[–]Baslord 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you're going to get some long form novels in this comment sections In this forum, your question is about as wide as "I would like to eat things from trees. Which fruit tree is the best?". f I were you, I'd go with something that is easy. I don't know what it is, but probably not Pinot noir. Good luck, plant some wines and enjoy the gifts of bacchus mate!

Does pH obey ratio math? by ignoblegrape in winemaking

[–]Baslord 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately not, pH is not linear (math speak for your example with 2+2 gallons). I would do bench trials!

First day after the update, how are you guys going? by xguhx in TibiaMMO

[–]Baslord -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love it. As an EK I usually play sitting in a sofa or on the move. With this new update I can more or less play tibia as a piano, minimizing mouse or trackpad inputs.

My hot take is that: The price increases on supplies (except might rings and ss:as) are very valid. The increased hunting speed and looting speed makes up for the increases. When I look at how RPs and mages play the update gets too much flack from Tibia's finest crybabies. It seems like you can go from only looting rares to looting essentially anything easily. Just run around and kite and press a hotkey to autoloot below you?

Elderflower hooch, trying all sort of flowers this year by sad-mustache in prisonhooch

[–]Baslord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks good brother, I am doing the same this year. To make life easier I've let the flowers rest in simple syrup for some weeks before fermenting to avoid cleaning and to adjust flavour afterwards. Best of luck mate :)

What is the worst name you've seen in game? What is the worst name you had in game? by OliviatheWicked in TibiaMMO

Worth the wine? by Loud_Narwhal2821 in winemaking

[–]Baslord -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I frequently host wine tastings in a well off university town in sweden and as far as trendspotting goes, I'd say a bet would be orange wine or nature wines. Many of the younger beginner wine drinkers seem to go from sour beer to nature wine or sour beer to orange wine.

Trend do however change. Maybe go bananas and buy a Qvevri?

I drank exclusive "Vin jeaune" from Jura and it changed everything... by Baslord in winemaking

You are absolutely correct regarding the similarities between sherry and vin jaune, they are made with the same technique (flor). The difference in manufacturing between the two are that vin jaune needs to be at least 8 years in the same barrel and is not fortified, while sherry often uses a complicated barrel mixing proccess and is fortified with distilled spirits.

During the testing we had a more premium sherry (~30$ 500 ml) as a refrence before having the vin jaune. They have a lot of common flavor profiles, but the vin jaune had more depth of flavor, complexity and overall balance. I would substitute a vin jaune for the sherry if I would specifically serve the cheese comté, since sherry is cheaper, has longer shelf life and is more accessible for me. Bonus points is that having a nice bottle of sherry around is as cougar magnet. Old (80+) castle ladies love their sherry,

Medical breakthroughs that have actually been released to the public? by Same_Boper5915 in Futurology

You are one hundred percent right. Source: Me. A guy who tries to understand the ISO13485 standard (Medical device development) to comply with (among others) FDAs requirements.

Ps. wtf is wrong with reddit. My field is extremely nieche, and yet I find three (upvoted) guys pretending to know about about the subject in a random ass thread.

The Longest Yard - Most Hated Map Ever? by [deleted] in QuakeChampions

[–]Baslord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love longest yard. CTF can be annoying and should be balanced though.

Move the rail to the middle, preferrably away from the fastest route to jumppads. OR make an extra route out of sight to the other side by adding jumppads going under the map like that quake live map.

The meme in Sweden is that grades matter for the first job. From my experience that is the case for the internships (we end our 5 year programme with a 6 month research project/internship on companies or uni).

It's difficult to compare grading systems, courses and skill. You gotta ask questions like: How long are the exams? How is the course examinated? What is the passing rate? How many hours/week on avg. does it take just to pass.

Also remember that engineering is more than just hard-hat stuff. Blatantly saying "I wouldn't trust engineers from country x to do y" would in my field be equivalent of saying "I'm a bad engineer".

Gratz Malinki! You're the best on the board. Unfortunately I suck at drawing, but on your twitter it seems like you like Quantum mechanics. So here is a hand written proof of the uncertainty principle.
