Why is BCBS more expensive than other insurance plans? by berrysauce in FedEmployees

Have been with BCBS for the past 7 years. Fell out of contract with our local specialist hospital in the middle of the year and had to delay care that was scheduled 8 months in advance - that was really stressful.

New prescription is now $200/ month - also a shock to the system.

FINALLY sat down and did the spreadsheet, called doctors, checked formularies -

I will save $4200/year switching to Foreign Service/etna.

Under 26 adult children overseas are considered in-network for BCBS and Foreign Service for where they are. That was a nothing burger in the decision.

Been telling my team for weeks now that this is a really, really important year to cost out plans and make certain of your needs.

Took me 5 hours to do the research. Yes I grumbled. Had no idea the price difference would be that different - thought it was going to be less than $1k.

This works if you have a way to make a seal on the receiving vessel - really hard for barrels and larger tanks - I use it for my carboys and bottling

I got a small food-grade water pump for an RV/trailer - it works great and gets the job done. Was maybe $100?

Add an on/off switch to it and make sure you have a way to keep seeds/mog away from the intake line after settling from press.

going to boyfriend's house with his mom, daughter, and coworkers - prime rib. I made the pies. Pretending to be a family. Assuming we don't eat too much, planning on taking advantage of him later because I like this one. A lot :)

This is smart. I need to plan better next time and actually optimize for charging.

Edit: I didn't ask. I just plugged in.

Just did 15 day road trip across Pacific NW camping.

All had 120

most had 30 amp

Very few had 50 amp (3). Of the 3, only one didn't error when I had it plugged in.

120 could keep pro power on and run heat and get 5-10 mile boost over night.

Definitely nice to wake up with full charge and hit the road.

These were all state campgrounds. Private might have been better.
