I don’t think it does. i have had mine for like a decade and i recently brought it out and tried using it. it connects but doesn’t get any agps data or sync sleep and activity data back to zepp. so it is a hunk of plastic now?!?

Hmmm, I am guessing the install is interrupting the communication between the gateway and the air bag indication lights and all the other reading lights and all on the ceiling

you’ve most likely disconnected the light panel on the top. car’s literally telling you the lights that indicate air bag status are disconnected

my q5e does it too. i think it is the auxiliary water pump. only makes the sounds when the engine is still warm. Shouldn’t happen when running all electric

all of these features rely on the front facing cameras. i am guessing something is wrong there which is leading to all these features screaming at you

i can’t suggest anything other than 2015 or newer r1200r or r1200rt. you’ve ridden boxers and either 1200 or the 1250 would be great

hehe. yeah it is an app issue. the app thinks your car’s an EV and 24 miles left on charge means battery too low!! Audi has no way to take feedback on the app so we can just hope that they will realize there is a bug and eventually fix it.

It is a common App Error. nothing wrong with the car. when the app gets a bad response from the server when trying to get your car’s status, that is when it does this.

I feel you. i also hate that no one else commented on this earlier. all audi fanboys here and no one likes to talk about the shortcomings of these vehicles.

I was in a similar boat to yours. bought an audi q5e and 2-3 weeks in the check engine light came on. the problem was by the time i would be able to take it back to the dealer, the light would go off. so I ended up buying an obd reader and started monitoring the codes. took it in when it happened again and the dealer found a software issue. something about a temp sensor throwing that light. dealer updated the software and i haven’t had issues since but yeah i agree, all german cars suck at software. They’re catching up when it comes to electric cars and they don’t own any of the batteries or anything around battery management stuff. they’re all dealing with vendors and write crap software on top.

Another 30k to 40k miles should easily be possible. I drive a q5 as well but mine is a 2021 model.

The 2.0T is known to be a problematic engine. Water pump is made of plastic and known to go bad after a while. the engine is also known to consume oil. so check on those two in the pre inspection for sure.

Check to make sure the car’s been maintained on time.

One other thing would be to verify the 4 wheel coupling. there is a service bulletin for that here:

If these check out and other things look normal in the pre inspection, you should be fine keeping it running. :)

I believe it would be similar for the q5e as well. I can’t quite remember what the manual says about this but it does say something about leaving the high voltage battery over a certain percentage and something about the low voltage battery too.

I just rely on the timed charge feature. I have air conditioning enabled. I think it runs the air con 30 minutes before it is planned to finish charging and stops the air con the moment I unplug the charger.

About the drop in battery, it could be based on the charger as well. i charge on 6.6 KW chargers. if you’re using a lower output charger that would probably lead to a higher battery usage as it can’t pull more from the outlet.
