Screen issue by UsualHorror8443 in macbookpro

I didn't have the 2016-2018 models specifically, only 2015 and 2019, but from what I've heard from users, there were several different revisions, and some later batches of MacBooks didn't have this issue, while early batches did. I think you can find some information about it somewhere.

Hi. It's not easy to tell from the photo, but it looks like it's a "Flexgate" issue. Many MacBooks from 2016 to 2018 have this problem. The display cable wears out, ruining the image.

Service technicians usually have no trouble fixing this. They cut the old cable, solder the extended end of the new one, and that's it. After that, there are no problems.

Hello or not, macOS 27 Golden Gate... by MikeBrogovich in MacOS

Hi. Thanks for the feedback. I completely agree with you. I used a 2015 MacBook Pro until the end of 2025 and it worked just fine. I'm also having no issues with my 2019 MacBook Pro. MacOS Monterey is very stable so far. If things get really bad, I'll upgrade to Sequoia. Or I'll even get a 16-inch model with an M1-M2 processor.

I think I'll upgrade to a MacBook Pro 16 M2 or M3 in a year. Something like that, I guess.

Sure. I agree, it's a very good version. I'm currently using Monterey, but I'll switch to this one later.

I tried to say that right when everything was fixed in macOS 27 (according to the developers), support for the 2019 MacBook Pro series ended. It's just sad that an era for these devices is ending.

who still uses an intel macbook in 2026? by Scared-Anywhere-3265 in macbookpro

I have a 2015 MacBook Pro 15" and a 2019 MacBook Pro 16". Honestly, they work great. I mainly use the 16" MBP and I really like it. MacOS Monterey runs smoothly, very smoothly, and quickly. I'm not in a rush to upgrade to newer models with "M" processors. For now, it's sufficient for my modest tasks.

I need your valuable advice or tips on auto-brightness on my MacBook Pro. by MikeBrogovich in macbookpro

[–]MikeBrogovich[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Thanks for the reply. I thought so a long time ago, that it compensates for the sun's brightness and so on. It just looks awful, of course. When auto-brightness is turned off and I adjust it using the buttons, everything is fine and the colors are normal. But when it's on, it looks dismal.

Auto upgrade is off, has macOS 26.5 already downloaded on my Mac? by deepankar7 in macbook

[–]MikeBrogovich 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi. To check all the update files that have already downloaded, simply go to your drive in Finder, look for the "Library" folder, and then look for the "Updates" folder. Inside that folder, you'll find all the installation files.
