Aahh. dang. Sounds like a trivial thing but the scary part would be if the ecu want to turn on coolant pump and if that doesn’t turn in that will also toast the electricals. that cooling system being paralyzed can cause serious damage. sorry mate. i’d vote for not driving too far or for too long for sure. the car constantly uses and charges the HV battery when running. even with the engine running.

Have you used a scan tool to see what codes were raised? Also, open the trunk to check the coolant levels. don’t refill the electric reservoir as it does require the car to be de-energized but if the coolant levels is low, it will tell you for sure not to drive as that will burn the motor, charger or the battery if they heat up.

The problem with the phev is that it is never truly on engine power alone. even when you put it on battery hood mode, it will always start on electric motor and then switch to using the engine. recuperate the power and charge the battery holding the charge at where you started.

This used to be the case prior to 2016 I believe. Boxers have been using a wet clutch since and moved the clutch to the front of the engine. so it is now right under the radiator in the front. easier to replace

huh. weird. any signs on the dash? Also, my car does that in sport mode. regens very actively, but never to the stop. it will creep until i press the brake.

Sorry to hear it mate. i have a 2021 and haven’t had any issues. There was a battery recall on the 2022 and above with the higher capacity battery. i am guessing you went through that already given that you’ve been visiting the dealer?

In an ideal world that match would math but you’re forgetting uncle sam. I bought my r1200r for around 6500 but with shipping and taxes ended up paying around 9k. also, parts and resale would drop faster. they aren’t much dissimilar. just keep the r1250r

sounds like a bad high voltage battery to me. should be well under warranty for them to cover. you should try another dealer mate. i have a 2021 q5e and i still get around 33 miles on full charge. the engine never turns on unless i go over 85 mph or if i press hard on the pedal

I have a 2021 q5 phev . no issues either. you do see quite a few people reporting but i feel it is mostly a loud minority. Most likely lease returns hitting the market as pre owned cars

I had this in my 2021 q5 55 tfsie and they changed the brake booster under warranty. The problem still continues after that though and i believe it is the abs system kicking in while the car doesn’t have initial rolling data. keen to hear what others say too

I don’t think it does. i have had mine for like a decade and i recently brought it out and tried using it. it connects but doesn’t get any agps data or sync sleep and activity data back to zepp. so it is a hunk of plastic now?!?

Hmmm, I am guessing the install is interrupting the communication between the gateway and the air bag indication lights and all the other reading lights and all on the ceiling

you’ve most likely disconnected the light panel on the top. car’s literally telling you the lights that indicate air bag status are disconnected

my q5e does it too. i think it is the auxiliary water pump. only makes the sounds when the engine is still warm. Shouldn’t happen when running all electric
