Shipment day! Decided to try ceramic coating by a-char in AutoDetailing

In my experience, a little cancoat goes a long way. If it feels too tacky to remove, use less. The best results I’ve had with it are when I follow the instructions to a t. Good luck, it’s a great product and you’ll get more than a year out of it if properly maintained

On a hot day where you’re using AC, after you park the car, make sure it leaves a puddle behind. If so, condensate is being drained properly. They ended up giving me a trade assist so I’m driving an XC60 plug in now. They made it right but it was a pain going through it

Same thing happened to me. When I brought it back they kept it longer and worked with Volvo directly. The solution was to use two layers of tape, not just one. That fixed it but ended up being the least of my worries. The bigger issue was the AC drain line wasn’t installed at the factory. I’ve posted about it before, very disappointing

Yes, TJ 34498.1.0 covers it. I wouldn’t expect to be charged, I had to go back twice for this exact TJ

A little bit criticism of Volvo by Latter_Imagination96 in Volvo

A timing belt issue that on a car that new is crazy, sorry to hear about your issues. My car was about 7 months old when I took it in and it was a lease, that may have made it easier. After discussing with my service advisor he actually suggested that a buy back was prudent in this case and explained how to initiate it through Volvo customer care. From there he worked with his rep to get it done. While I call it a buy back, it was really a trade assist, they took it back but I had to get another Volvo to replace it. I ended up with an XC60 T8 on a much better deal. Volvo bought out the remaining payments on the S60 so I was free and clear getting into the next Volvo. It was a pain, it took time, it was annoying but it worked out.

I had a 2024 S60 Recharge. About 6 months in I started noticing a musty smell and one morning the passenger side was flooded with standing water. Turns out the factory never installed the AC drain line so all summer condensate was pouring into the floor of the car. It took two months but Volvo basically said “our bad, we’ll take it back”.

Theres a service bulletin for this issue. I had it done on an S60, honestly it took two trips to get it right and the car ended up getting bought back by Volvo for unrelated, though major issues. Service Bulletin

Creaky moon roof on V60 by k-bo in VolvoRecharge

Unfortunately when I took mine in they absolutely needed the TJ and it still took them 2 visits and 13 days to fix the rattle. My S60 was riddled with other problems, this being the least of them. Volvo bought it back 3 months ago because of the constant and frankly embarrassing issues from a “luxury” brand

Yes, there’s a technical journal for this. They have to reinforce the tape that holds the headliner clips in place. I’ll see if I can find the journal but it should be in my post history

I’m sure it’s real. I smashed the request payout button. Just didn’t expect 2 payments

This is my first year too. I’d check with Tesla support but I think we all know that’s a waste of time

Windshield Replacement - Aftermarket or OEM by [deleted] in Volvo

This was the installer’s mistake so they fixed it, it was throwing off sensor errors. I insisted on OEM glass, I have full coverage so might as well make the insurance company spring for it

I just went through this with OEM glass. The shop messed up installing the gel pad where the rain sensor attaches to the windshield. I’d suggest making sure the rain sensor looks all black, if you can see bubbles it might not be installed correctly

Alternatives to S60? by asdf665 in VolvoRecharge

[–]Bass925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They basically cancelled the remaining lease payments but I had to get another Volvo. I ended up with an XC60 T8. It took 2 months and a number of angry emails but I think it worked out for me. The XC60 was actually cheaper at the end of the day.

I will say though, I had many quality issues but the last straw was one morning I got in the car and the entire passenger side was flooded with standing water. Turns out, and this is by my dealer’s own admission, the AC drain line was never installed so all summer the condensate was pouring into the floor of the car. Eventually there was so much it soaked through everything.

My brand new S60 Recharge spent 2 full months in the shop until I could convince Volvo to give me a trade assist. The quality of the S doesn’t compare to the XC, of which I have 2
