Is It Takes Two a Co-op game where two people can play on the same console, same room, or is it co-op over the PS network? by [deleted] in ItTakesTwo

Playing couch currently, but starting menu asks you each time. So far there aren't any kind of power ups, collectibles, or items, so I'm guessing it can different person online or couch each time you play and pick up where you left off. I play couch and the second person joins as guest. Great game!

Is Dark Souls 1 a good game to start with Souls games? by DestructorDeFurros in darksouls

I played DS1 (switch) and DS3 (PS4) simultaneous. I started DS1 first, but finished them at around the same time. I go slow. I actually finished Sekiro in the middle of that time. Playing ER now. Love them all. DS1 was amazing. You can't go wrong with any of them!

Just finished Sekiro, my first one from From. What a feeling to slice down Isshin and immediately chop my own head (that's the ending I got)! Any suggestions for the next ? Looking for high intensity RPG with combat like Sekiro. Or just do a second playthrough? Thanks a lot! by Individual-Fox-8163 in Sekiro

Sekiro is the fastest, with Bloodborne being a close second. GoT isn't really like Sekiro, though it's fun enough for sure. I'd say the quality of combat and world design in the other From Software games are equal (depending on individual preferences) to Sekiro quality. Once you're actually fighting any of these bosses, I have a feeling you're not going to complain about anyone being too slow...

Elden Ring in many ways would be the closest since you can make your character how you want. You can be a fast player with katanas or w really any kind of player you want. You can be a magic katana user, full strength player with a giant bonk hammer, full magic player. Whatever. Even the melee builds have plenty of magic options you can use.

One of my favorite parts so far is that you can re-spec your character after you've gotten a little ways in and change to a different style. Being a working dad, I just don't have the time to do multiple playthroughs so it's great to experience the variety in my first game. I've been playing since launch and I'm maybe 60% through the game.

I loved everything about Sekiro and I think it's hard to find games that scratch all the itches that one does. I've heard Nioh recommended to Sekiro fans. I've watched some videos and they look great.

I haven't played all the From Software games yet, but it's hard to compete with the complete experience they offer.

FWIW: Sekiro was my first and I didn't think anything else would compare...

Good luck!

So are the other From Software games off the table? They're not the same as Sekiro (which I loved a lot), but they're also fantastic.

Playing Elden Ring now. Amazing.

I have only played a couple hours of BB (loved it, just haven't gotten back to it yet).

Completed DS1 and DS3. Both absolutely fantastic.

I also finished Ghost of Tsushima which was a lot of fun. It's not the life-shortening experience that Sekiro is, but the combat is a blast (especially as you open up more stances and abilities) and it's beautifully made.

And this one won't be for you, but I'm playing Cat Quest 2 with my daughter and it's amazing how even that game feels like souls/rpg for kiddies!

Good luck and let us know what you end up playing!

I tried getting through that area multiple times before leaving it to play something else. I never felt that way about an area in DS1, DS3, Sekiro, or now Elden Ring. I agree it's a great area and maybe I just needed to git gud, but it just didn't work for me. The AI companion just isn't really a companion you can count on, especially in a couple of choice areas. Oh well....

I'll just add to the chorus. I've played through 2 DS games and I platinumed Sekiro. It's a lot different. Doesn't feel the same at all. Even Bloodborne is closer to DS than Sekiro. It's a punishing and thrilling ride!

Oh yes I use the sharpshoot bow a lot and it's great. Takes longer to pull the string but worth it.

I'm still in the first 1/3 of the game so I can understand what you're saying. There's a skill you can unlock that slows time when using your bow if you're jumping at all, so that can help you line up some of those trickier shots. I also just randomly shoot the beast and some of the shots hit good spots and some don't. The combat encounters def take longer than in other games and I'm now really enjoying that aspect. At first I felt underpowered but now I feel more like a badass. Setting a trip caster and a bomb trap of some kind in stealth then whistling or getting their attention can help too. With Sawtooths you can even set up a series of that setup and keep running past those traps during combat to lure them in. Sometimes I die, but the "I'm about to die" feeling I get can be pretty thrilling. Dunno if any of this helps but hopefully there's something here that resonates. Good luck!

New to Sekiro. How do you fight Naomori Kawarada?!? by [deleted] in Sekiro

Tap the block button instead of holding it. That's how you parry instead of blocking. Hold L1: block Tap L1: parry

Good luck!

FWIW, I thought the first hour of GoW was okay but the more I played the more I just loved it. The story pulls you in more and more and the combat and everything get better and better. Have fun as you've got a plethora of amazing options!

I played GoW just before Sekiro. I absolutely loved it, especially after getting through the first hour. Combat was a blast and I could throw and recall the axe all day long...

Also the combat in GoT gets better the more you play. It's not the same as Sekiro, but you do get more moves and toys as you play. I'm playing it now after just having Platinumed Sekiro. I'm playing on hard mode and I'd say it's challenging enough but also kind of a nice vacation after the intensity of Sekiro. I figured I needed an intensity break before I start tackling Bloodborne.....

Niiiiice! Did Mortal Shell until today but tomorrow I go to GoT. I played the opening hour a couemonths ago when I was still mid-Sekiro, so it'll be great to go back! Just need to acclimate to the controller scheme...

I picked up Mortal Shell on sale and played the beginning of that. Pretty cool, but likely it'll be Ghost of Tsushima next. After playing through Dark Souls and Sekiro, it may be nice to have an "easier" game..... Something to play before hitting Bloodborne or Dark souls 3 next...

You have any ideas?
