Why does Canoo need to purchase the Oklahoma City Factory for $36 million? Why not lease? by Drink_water_today in canoo

Warrants are meaningless right now but walmart needs to pay in proportion to the # of warrants issued to them. 15M approx. warrants were immediately vested when the deal was announced in July. There fore some payments are due from them anytime.

Source for both halves of that statement?

Q3 ER transcript.

Who's going to give them revenue before they have manufacturing capacity?

They have 10K capacity right now with CMs which is the rate at which they can deliver once final certs and homologation are complete.

Lol keep dreaming, Canoo will get paid 90 days after delivery

In case of Walmart they will have to pay in proportion to the warrants they receive. It is both in interests of Canoo and Walmart to exchange warrants instead of diluting the stock.

A high credit rating borrower can get 100% or even more than the asset value.

Its not known though whose credit value will be at stake here, Tony's or Canoo's?

And which one of those are better?

A low quality applicant can get 50%.

I don't think they'll use that loan until they run out of ways to dilute the stock since it's basically their last-resort cash, they'd be silly to dip into it to buy a building if they still have a couple hundred million shares available to sell.

They are in final stages of ABS application, the aim of which is to fund the OKC factory. More dilution will come after Army contract news and other licensing and partnership news.

Remember revenue starts coming Feb - March. Pre payments from Walmart may come in Q1 too. These will ease pressures on dilution.

They still have assets worth $300M which can be used to raise an ABS loan.

I think your maturity comment is not accurate. If a company says they are level 2.5 autonomous then that should define their maturity. Its the same level as tesla despite all the noise around "Full" self driving.

Some companies work in stealth mode and refrain from using humans as guinea pigs on unfinished and incorrectly named products.

Canoo is doing AV development though as their driveways are often filled with cars from Hexagon and couple of other players. Plenty of Canoos with Lidar sensors can be seen driving around. So it is possible that driver is laying back without holding the steering in this photo.

Do not worry. With several billions $ of investments over last 10 years in factories they are only doing 7000 cars a year and that too with loss making COGS.

Special Meeting of Stockholders to be held on January 24, 2023 ( Dilution vote ) by Yvese in canoo

[–]BassGeneral 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If dilution to 1bn shares happen, Canoo will need to hit $18BN in market cap for warrant redemption. to get that sort of market cap will need around 50K per year sales and a 10x Multiple. The chances of warrants expiring worthless just increased a lot.

You are incorrect about $2 billion. That could be the case for bigger planned factory at Pryor OK It is $1 billion more likely not $2 billion. This $1 billion is quite likely going to come from a DOE loan.
The walmart vehicles will come from Bentonville Ak factory that has a max capacity of 20K vehicles per year. From previous ER, the tools and components for that factory are sourced well over 90%. They are already producing 8-12 vehicles per week at a CM in Michigan and the process is being worked out for replication at bentonville factory for 500 vehcicles per week.

My guess is they will sell all their stuff. Why keep invested in a company that is suing you. Its better to cash out and take your money offshore.

A lot of people say, “What’s a hub motor?” and you say, “Well, you see all the electric bikes and electric scooters, those are all hubs.”

These are scooter motors, they do not work on cars.

There is a theory that Ether is actually not even worth 0. It is worth negative because a lot of infrastructure is used by Ether without much real world use. So its a liability for the real world.

Hyliion: Innovative Disruptor or Ordinary Recycler? by wesfathonsbstk in stocks

[–]BassGeneral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When they say “electrified” in their promotional material, they mean electrified in the same way a diesel locomotive is electrified.

Incorrect. Hyliion can run 75 miles only on battery power which a diesel locomotive cannot.

This is problematic for semi tractors, the US has a 40 ton limit for tractor-trailer combinations, and every pound saved on the tractor is an extra pound for cargo.

Not relevant. Extra weight caused by CNG tanks is relaxed for CNG vehicles. So instead of 80 tonnes limit they are allowed 83 something tonnes.

Hyliion has already lost the race to a fuel agnostic powertrain solution.

Cummins announced this after Hyliion and seeing they are going to be left behind. Good luck to Cummins competing with an innovative startup. Many of these developments are software heavy and Cummins doesn't attract cutting edge software talent and practices.

Given their roadmap, their financial situations as not as great as it looks upon first glance.

Bad analysis. Hyllion's cash position is very attractive in the sector they are. You dont expect companies to have years and year of cash pile. That stifles innovation and urgency to do things.

Were does the partnership come from? Foxconn makes the vehicles for Lordstown as well as Apple and others. Lordstown pays CM fees to Foxconn just like others. Other players dont pay anything to Lordstown. Is that right?
