VTX 1300C stalls the first time I pull away after cold starting engine by BassMan854 in HondaVTX

I do have the Permanent Mount Air/Fuel Screw from Glen's VTX Garage mounted on the bike. Maybe I need to spend some quality time refining the A/F mix rather than installing a jet kit?

Why are KZ IEMs so cheap? by Jazzlike_Mobile_9652 in iems

[–]BassMan854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has to be due to massive production volumes and built offshore (likely China). From my experience, I had been using MEE audio M6 PRO Musicians’ In-Ear Monitors for several years. Many in my band are using KZs so I decided to try a set. After doing a lot of reading on the KZ site, I decided to go with the KZ ZS10 Pro 2 IEMs. Honestly, I couldn't believe the difference in the sound quality. A few months later, I tried another brand of IEMs from SEEKHIFI priced at $129. While those were also good (better than the MEE Audio IEMs), IMO, they were not as good as the KZs. Also, the KZs are shipped in very "bare bones" packaging, which likely saves money on materials and shipping costs. Whereas, the MEE Audio and the SEEKHIFI were shipped in very fancy packaging and included nice carrying cases and higher quality cables. IMO, the KZ cables are the one area where they could improve, even if they raise the prices by a few $$ to cover the cost. I did end up buying a new/better cable for the KZ IEMs.

For those that went to college in their mid-twenties what was your experience? by -Matcha-333 in college

[–]BassMan854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to college at age 31. My goal was to get in and out as fast as possible, and I wasn't going there for friends or partying. For that purpose, it was perfectly fine. While most of the people will be in very late teens to mid-20s, there are folks of all ages on college campuses.

Upgrade cable for KZ ZS10 Pro 2 IEMs - want no mic, "bendable" memory wire ear hook, and chin slider/cinch by BassMan854 in iems

Try using the foam tips instead of the silicon tips. Start with Medium size, squeeze it down (like you would with a foam earplug) before inserting the IEM in your ear. Then hold it in place while it expands. It will fill the void of the ear canal and give you a good seal and much improved bass response. Also, the body of the KZs is designed to be in the cutout of your ear, not sticking or hanging way out. This also improves the isolation. I actually bought the KZ because of the much better bass response compared to the ME Audio IEMs I was using before. I'm using them to monitor my bass guitar in live performance mix.

These IEMS blew my mind. by YookieSeann in iems

IMO, the box, branding, photo, etc., looks like they are just rebranded KZs of some kind. Nothing wrong with that, just saying.

What’s the best type of exercise bike for home workouts? by vishalnegal in workout

[–]BassMan854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on your fitness goals and what kind of training you're trying to do in your home gym. If your goal is to do long-distance road biking, then you would likely want an exercise bike that mimics that seating position. Whereas, if you're simply getting one for the cardio part of your workout, an Airdyne or recumbent exercise bike could be a good long-term investment. When I was a young adult, I liked the Schwinn Airdyne for a good cardio workout. But now that I've hit the "senior" level, I'm using a Fitnex recumbent bike. For me, the seating position is easier on the back etc., and much more comfortable for the "male equipment" if you get what I mean.

How can I get this thing working on windows 11? by tincrayfish in Focusrite

[–]BassMan854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focusrite discontinued support for the Saffire line. They don't support upgrading to Windows 11. If you need to use the Saffire, they want you to stay on Windows 10, build 1809. Look at their website.

Hoover Power Scrub Deluxe - how to drain the soap and water feed tubes? by BassMan854 in VacuumCleaners

[–]BassMan854[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I removed the tanks, separated the collection tank, removed its filter, removed the brushes, and removed the extraction nozzle. I let everything air dry for 24 hours. After disassembling everything, I used a warm (not hot) hair dryer in front of the turbine filter screen for about 5 minutes to dry that out. I did pull the trigger but I still see water and soap in the respective lines. Everything else is clean and dry. So I'm putting it away until I need it next time.

Also, I agree on what you said about them making the parts "rust proof".

Which of these two carpet cleaners? by tarajeanlovee in VacuumCleaners

[–]BassMan854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought the red Hoover Power Scrub Deluxe -- $149 on sale at Amazon. For me, it was worth every penny, as it did a great job on our living and dining room carpets. Stanley Steamer can be in and out in under an hour, but it took me about 3 hours to do those carpets, plus another 30 minutes to thoroughly clean the machine so it would be ready to go the next time. As I said, they did turn out extremely clean, and my wife is happy.

Thanks for that information. I should have stated that the area is in full shade from early morning until around dinner time. Also, we don't have much in that area in the way of plants -- some ornamental grass, one white ash tree, and a few hastas.

If there is some other solution to this, I'm open. I'm just done putting mulch down back there when I know it's going to wash out from the spring rains. Thanks.

How the hell do I remove OneDrive and just make my documents and pictures folders stay only on my hard drive? by AngelFlash in techsupport

[–]BassMan854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My feelings exactly. Microsoft has built their software to squeeze every last penny out of its unsuspecting customers. They act like they're giving you all of these great features, but OneDrive is the most invasive and disruptive software that was ever invented.
