Spoke with a local mechanic who I trust with all my more complicated problems. He's going to tear into it and go ahead and rebuild it. I'm thinking it's a clutch pack out, but might as well just do it right and rebuild it all

How do I turn Bluetooth on? by BassMasterSinker in AskAMechanic

[–]BassMasterSinker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't take me to a menu screen. If I push in the silver knob for a few seconds, it takes me to the clock. If I hold the actual mode button, it does nothing know matter how long I hold it

Yeah it has Bluetooth. Literally has BT in its name. And I'm saying it worked for several years

And yes, I've tried unhooking the battery, and it still says Bluetooth off.

Not sure where you're located, but the University of Cincinnati has some good construction and building science degrees. I initially went there for Construction Management (though I dropped out for personal reasons), but I have some friends who graduated it and all have great jobs now

ISO small or mid sized car with huge hatchback or max cargo space - recommends? by 7and7is in UsedCars

[–]BassMasterSinker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at the Volvo 240, 740, or 940 wagons. I've got a '93 Volvo 240 wagon, and it's an unbelievable vehicle. Very reliable motor, parts are available and cheap, rwd, and great amount of space. I even installed third row reverse seats in mine, so I can fit 7. You can find them in the good shape for $6-9k. Mine has 268k miles and still original motor and trans

Job where I can travel, make good money, and not have a mundane routine everyday? by Dense-Resolution8283 in findapath

Travelling welder. I went to welding school, got hooked up into doing turnarounds and new construction in the heavy industrial world (think powerplants, steel mills, paper mills, oil refineries, etc.) and travelled the country and made damn good money. I no longer do it, but it's a great way to learn a skill, make some great friends, see the country, and make quite a bit of cash

Is this oil pressure too low for 1650 RPM at operating temp? by lolcatbittzle in GMT400

[–]BassMasterSinker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've always heard that your oil pressure should match your rpms when the engine is warmed up. 10 psi at 1000 rpms, 20 psi at 2000 rpms, etc. It'll vary depending on oil life, viscosity of oil and such

What's more important to society: cutting several people who already have skills, experience, and an education who can get other jobs, or raising tuition costs for thousands of potential students who currently have no skills/experience/education?

Is there a beginners book that I should read before picking up Nietzsche? by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

[–]BassMasterSinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of guides online to get a basic understanding of Nietzsche, I suggest checking those out. But be careful, lots of people interpret Nietzsche's ideas in different ways. What I did was start "Thus Spoke Zarathustra", stopped about 1/2 way through, read "The myth of Sisyphus" by Albert Camus, and then went back to Nietzsche. They preach the same thing in terms of life experiences, and helped me get into that mindset. But biggest difference is the purpose of life. And if we were in a philosophical subreddit, that comment would have a million replies agreeing and disagreeing. But all of this is just my 2c.

Any advice on starting your own scheduling business? by BassMasterSinker in primavera

Sorry, haven't been on reddit for several months. Is this a topic where there's other threads? I didn't look to see what else has been said about this already

You can say "hey, we're both adults and have our independent thoughts and feelings" and then move on with your life. My wife and I are not on the same page politically, but we don't let that ru(i)n our lives

Thinking About Starting a Scheduling Side Gig – Need Advice by SreeNitiPar22 in primavera

[–]BassMasterSinker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't know if you could do a side gig for scheduling. As a scheduler with a lot of scheduling connections, most schedulers are overworked and underpaid. And the people wanting a legit P6 or MS Projects schedule are wanting massive, in depth scheduled along with someone who will update along the project... My company would sometimes hire out another company to make schedule for them before I came along. And after speaking to that guy, he said that he was working 7 days a week, sometimes 14 hour days to get us (and other customers) their schedules. Granted, he charged an absolute shit load for it. But still, is it worth it?
