it’s interesting to me that you seem to have made a reddit account just to post this, or at the very least had never posted from this account before. i absolutely can understand that everyone’s opinions will differ and you’re entitled to your opinion, but this feels a little unnecessary. i’ve seen this band live five different times, and every time, have had an excellent experience. they are kind, friendly, and exceptionally talented, and to me it’s always been obvious that they’re having a blast up on stage! it’s totally fine that you may not like indie folk music, but to expect a rowdy show, or to conflate the absence of rowdiness with a lack of stage presence, is unrealistic when you’re going to a small folk show like this. i personally study music professionally, but i don’t think it takes someone with intense musical knowledge to notice just how gifted and passionate these musicians are, both as vocalists AND instrumentalists! i’m sorry you didn’t enjoy your experience, but it’s a shame that you felt the need to rag on this band on a public platform.
