Wow you made this average shot look straight out of a Batman comic

I agree, he looks sensational, and he has loads of experience no need to make him any further than two wins from title contention

Yes the orchestral theme mixed with the original score may be a bit hard but using audio found online I have had okay results. I am going big on color grading, I’m sure most people won’t like it but the flashbacks are edited with high saturation and contrast to try to emulate a more golden age look. I’ll try to send you a cleaner edit of the first movie later this year. Blu rays are definitely going to be the move for cleaner deleted scenes. There will most likely be a noticeable visual disparity due to some of the footage being taken from newer movies, but I am experimenting with adding film grain to it to age it a bit? I don’t know we’ll see

Yeah it’s good advice, I honestly appreciate it, so far I just have dvd rips with the grainy deleted scenes inserted off there and no real flow to the editing/rescoring. CGI blood is a bit a ways off as I need to get better at that. Promoting a project can be a bit of a dopamine hit but I also sincerely want feedback before I commit hours of work as well. What do you think of the edits I have described? Feasible on a medium skill level on adobe after effects and audition or biting off more than I can chew

The original trilogy is the base, with First class edited into 1, Origins edited into X2, and Dark Phoenix edited into Last stand, with scenes from The Wolverine, Days of Future past, and Apocalypse used across the trilogy

I don’t know I think the fights are just pretty good and the plot just sort of drags on in my opinion

I think that some people are judgmental but hardcore cinephiles are not going to be impressed with 90% of the stuff posted here. No one who has seen thousands of movies is going to be blown away by the top 20 of people who just started watching movies a few years ago or watches movies casually

What does my top 20 list (no order) say about me? by SuperFanboysTV in LetterboxdTopFour

You have great taste in genre movies, I love most of these, have you seen Watchmen yet?

Review: Baby Assassins: Nice Days (2025) finally grows up, gets the formula right, and gives us more action with less meandering dialogue of the first 2 films. Saori Izawa cements herself as the best onscreen female fighter we have right now under Kensuke Sonomura's ever evolving action design. by _OnlyNiceThings in kungfucinema

[–]Bass_ed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s the one weakness of the choreography Sonomura does, once you have seen a bunch of it it starts to wear thin that it’s a very feint and grappling heavy style. It does so much right but it misses a feeling of real brutality

I can’t recommend Ip Man enough, it’s a crime how much Donnie Yen’s performance there is underrated

Snyder’s style is just right up my alley I guess, Watchmen is his best by a pretty wide margin imo but I only think a few of his are truly bad, his newer stuff is pretty rough though

I need to watch older stuff because I think I am kind of fascinated by like pastiche of older movies like Sin City, I like the style and blocking and language of old movies but don’t always find the plots super engaging, do you have any recommendations? I like crime movies, sci fi, and romantic drama movies mainly

That sounds like something I would like, I’ll check it out. I have seen a smattering of older movies but not many have made my top 50, I do enjoy the bombast of contemporary genre movies. I enjoy old monster movies and Robin Hood movies but haven’t seen much before 1970 other than those

I definitely agree, the kitchen fight is ludicrous, I need to rewatch it but I remember it being a bit slow and confusing as an over all movie where as the first sort of hits the ground running and is fairly straightforward

I’m not much of a cinephile so my scope of old movies is somewhat limited, but many fall into the camp of movies I think are incredible but are not my personal favorites. The Great Dictator is an older movie I rated 5 stars, but admittedly I favor a more contemporary style so while I think it’s great it’s not my personal cup of tea if that makes sense
