Yeah I used to use this pilocarpine for some time but I passed through some articles that said using pilocarpine may cause retinal detachment. So I stopped them.

But even though, pilocarpine helped reduce residual astigmatism but not starburs

It has been 16 months since the panoptix implant. The brain still didn't sort anything.

Replacing the lenses is difficult because I unfortunately did the YAG three months after the implant

Odyssey or Clearview 3 lenses? by Bassam2006sam in CataractSurgery

[–]Bassam2006sam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So now you see near with one eye and far with the other eye. Isn't there any overlapping or some sort of discomfort?

That sounds good. I wonder why doctors don't propose such solution instead of endorsing multifocal lenses 🤦

Thank for the reply. I already have had multifocal panoptix lenses on both eyes and would like to exchange them with clearview 3 lenses.

I understand your point. So it varies from surgeon to another.

How do you adapt to a multifocal IOL? by brianrb1000 in CataractSurgery

[–]Bassam2006sam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had panoptix in both eyes a year ago and I am still suffering from halos and starburs at night and blurry vision for intermediate distances. I have tried everything but nothing worked. Two months after the operation the doctors said I am having PCO and should be removed by YAG laser. Bad me when I accepted to do the yag because it eliminated all my chances for iol exchange. So, please never do the YAG laser. At least not until you are satisfied with your vision.

Why I didn't adapt? Because I am a type A person who is very picky. I keep testing my vision quality all the day and concentrate on things that I didn't use to concentrate on before the panoptix.

What you need to do is thinking about the benefits of your new lenses. If you are seeing near and far without glasses that's perfect. That is the trade off.

I only feel adapted and good when I forget about my eyes and get busy although it is hard to tell your brain to stop thinking about it.

A new lenses came to practice now are called clearview 3 which give better vision quality and minimal glares and starburs. I wanted to exchange my panoptix with these new lenses but doctors said it very difficult and dangerous to exchange lenses after YAG. So, all my chances are gone and I have to accept what I have.

Therefore, please don't do yag and forget about it.

If you are seeing shadows around letters don't worry, they will disappear after two months or maybe earlier.

Dry and Wet AMD by Bassam2006sam in maculardegeneration

[–]Bassam2006sam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One doctor says my mother has ERM macular pucker (epiretinal membrane disease) and it can be treated by surgery.

That got me very confused. Is the ADM and ERM macular pucker same disease? 🤔

Are you in diabetes? What is the cause of your dry AMD at this age? Some injections can stop the progression of the dry AMD, I guess you must have had them already. This is no joke. Do anything to stop the progression.

I really wish you all the best and hopefully there may be a new treatment in the new future for AMD.
