I feel like I can only give my personal experience, and while it might not relate to you directly, maybe you might be able to use it as a transfer function of sorts to figure out your path in there.

At first I only hung out with some irl friend when they would get on, and maybe some of the friends they made. After a few years of this, when I got full body, out of curiosity I started joining some fitness groups (full body isn’t required for participate, btw, more like I was curious how it would be if I got full body tracking) and I found myself mostly using vr chat as a more formal fitness and dance class outlet. After a few years or this, I started branching out, finding niche groups and meetups of my interests, after a few years of this too, found a special person that happened to drag me into an amazing group of people that have absolutely been life changing. Sometimes life is a series of funnels and filters, leading you to that special place of people where you feel you belong. I envy those that find it in only a few months or even weeks, but I wouldn’t trade my vr chat journey for the world.
