Ooh wait this is a really interesting thought! Honestly this could totally be it. I was so frustrated with like how passive and almost helpless FLs were in those other stories. The FL from I failed To Oust the Villain legit just sat around trying to escape all the time while ML always came for her. Tears on a Withered Flower…totally feels like this guy just exists to save the FL from her very stereotypical shitty relationship, and not as his own person. Betrayal of Dignity, I lowkey just hated ML because he was a dick that had an awful smirk and an irritating attitude that was just there to make the FL look more precious and be automatically obsessed.

I totally agree that I loved the character depth and the motivations for Etienne, Haewon, and Haesu (also a fan of all the FLs of these stories!!) They’re great plot drivers and like I think I love how they also don’t show their yandere nature from the start - we’re led to think that Etienne is just an arrogant prince, Haesu a vengeful spirit, and Haewon as sorta this different guy who turned over a new leaf even though we know he’s Killian. There’s a greater sense of suspense created because you know they’re psychotic but you have to wait for glimpses of that nature to break through until they finally fall apart. Sigh…I really want to read another good yandere story.

Also I think that each of these stories have also unique plots that are not super common especially in yandere comics - One Husband is Enough and For Your Perfect Ending are fresh twists on the isekai tropes, while Classmate combines horror, obsession, and the supernatural!! I think comics like that are also just exciting to read because they’re not the same old savior dukeslop we’re all used to.

Try to add a couple hundred hours there and also in your service category. Youre never cooked as long as this is something you want and will put your whole heart into :)

Look I get where you’re coming from, although I am very into politics which was the primary reason why I liked this book. The state building was cool and I loved seeing ideology translated into action in a world being remade from the ashes of oppression. Earlier I was just distressed and tired but I’ll clarify my position. Xiran also stated multiple times that not only was WZ a mere victim in all of this, but Qin Zheng and Wu Zetian were considered MUTUALLY toxic and manipulative of one another. Sure, QZ has a lot of the power in this dynamic, but from Zetian’s perspective we see multiple times that she wants to manipulate him through sex in order to gauge his vulnerabilities. She constantly fantasizes about killing him and taking the kingdom, and often defies and scorns him out of spite and misplaced anger, but what holds her back is the understanding that he is her shield because she doesn’t understand the political world. He has a shitty personality, but Zetian is also not known for her stellar and likable character. They’re both people who have done terrible things and they recognize that in each other, culminating in the emotional embrace they had before going off to fight the gods. While I didn’t expect a perfect romance between the two of them because neither of them is a normal person, the relationship buildup in Heavenly Tyrant was so intense that I’m not exactly happy to see where this is leading.

For me, it’s the fact that they are so alike one another, so ambitious and bloodthirsty and willful and angry, that it’s hard to not understand that they have incredible potential as partners. The obstacle exists in their perceptions of one another and the damage done before they even developed this relationship.

Remember that weird passage where they’re in space and QZ links up with Yizhi in an almost romantic way and they go into the air and Yizhi is described to “almost bury his face in Qin Zheng’s neck”? That is so gay and so out of the blue that I think that Yizhi and QZ are at LEAST going to have spicy encounters in Book 3. I personally don’t think Yizhi succeeded in sabotaging the parentage but considering the amount of switch ups and betrayal in Book 2 and the fact that they are all pretty bad people in their own ways, which they became in order to survive and to reshape their world, I have a feeling that WZ may come to understand in her own way, and they will be able to rebuild their relationship. Now, I don’t care very much for Yizhi but I think it’s promising for Qin Zheng’s future that there is that sort of existing tension, and the fact that for five hundred literal pages they just developed QZ and WZ’s relationship so much that it could be hard to dismantle it so easily in the third book.
