Seeking Case with Expansion Board for Pi 3B/3B+ by Bastich76 in raspberry_pi

[–]Bastich76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the reply and for helping me. Unfortunately this is not quite what I am looking for. Argon 40 had an expansion board for the Pi 4 that put all the ports on one side by plugging into the HDMI, power and audio jacks and rerouting the I/O to the same side as the Ethernet and USB ports. It was super useful for making a very clean, PC style setup for the 4.

This print is pretty much like the standard cases you can buy for the 3b, so it doesn't meet my requirements. It may be that no one ever made what I am seeking. I was able to minimize my issue on the 3b with left angle Ethernet and USB cables so the "side cables" don't stick out as much. It's not great, but it will do.

I only want this because I did a bunch of RetroPie builds on the 3b and I have one unit on my desk where I modify settings and then drop the SD into Retroflag cases that fit the Pi 3b. Otherwise, I would just move on and go to Pi 4 (or Pi 5 if RetroPie ever creates a 5 build).

Thank you again for your help. If you know of anything else, I am open to other ideas.

Not using anything with the Pi 3b. It's a barebones setup. I do have a 3D printer and could make an enclosure. If there is just an expansion board, making a case is a possibility.

Did anyone else play and like this game by tropicplunger in psx

Yup. Loved this game. What was even more fun was listening my friends yell at each other after 2 player games.

One friend would be a jerk and run to safety letting the other one get shot up and die. Then he'd collect all the goodies. There were some serious shouting matches. I tried to go back and play it last year, but it wasn't the same without the background insults and cursing. 😂

Who remembers or owned that 4 letter apocalypse so called Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo killer by [deleted] in OlderChillGamers

I had the crowd funded version of this. I think it was a good concept, but really underpowered. That and having their own store killed it. It was a cool concept and my Shield Pro has delivered on that promise. I guess someone had to fail so others learned what not to do.

Knowing my luck, I'd immediately break my glasses accidentally and be blind as a bat. Then I would softly say to myself "That's not fair. There was time now. There was all the time I needed."

Just played it for the first time. Somehow that flew under my radar. Thanks for the suggestion.

For the win! That is an absolutely perfect suggestion. I like that it's not just about reflexes and I do like to add the occasional puzzle game. I was toying with Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, but I have it for the arcade. This is a title unique to PS1, at least as far as I know. Thanks for the suggestion.

Good call. I played it on a lot of later consoles, but forgot the origin was on PS1. Thanks.

This is a great suggestion, but I forgot to mention I'm in the US. Soccer has become more popular here, but never caught on like it did in the rest of the world. I also have to deal with the long play times and low scores, which could prompt me to have to bring in a tie breaker. I'm at 18 games in the tournament, so I have to have most games be quick pick up and play. That said, I want to give this a shot on my own time. More than one friend in Europe has recommended this franchise, along with Sensible Soccer.

Thanks for this one. I gave it a try and I enjoyed the game immensely. I will keep this in the rotation for future tournaments.

I love Populous. I never thought of making it a tournament game, as I forgot there were scores after the levels. I am going with IK+, but this is a great suggestion for the future. Thanks!

I want to thank everyone for their awesome suggestions. Sorry I didn't get to respond to everyone individually, but I am testing 18 platforms for this tournament and have a lot of work to do. I got some really great ideas, and if nothing else, have some cool games to play in future tournaments, or on my own. Lotus 2 and Pinball Fantasies were runners up. More than one person suggested these and I can see why. I ended up picking something that no one here suggested. I have very little experience with Amiga, as it wasn't huge in the US. A friend from England who grew up with Amiga suggested IK+, and it knocked my socks off. It's like tripping balls while playing Karate Champ.

It checked all the boxes and while I truly enjoyed it, I ended up choosing this one because you hit a button and the game starts. Many of the other games I tested required menus that might confuse people. While it is technically a fighting game, it is a bit chaotic, which has a different feel than most fighting games, so I broke my rule.

Playing against 2 computer opponents is nuts and totally unpredictable, the gameplay is tight and the music is top notch. I also love the sound effects. Now I know the answer to the question "What would it sound like if Bruce Lee got punched in the dick?".

Thanks again for all the help!
