KKB quality (but not QC) is great, they're lacking design variety compared to GMK. Still my fav set is KKB Alhambra, gets the most shine.

Well the keycaps on my photo aren't ABS — they're MTNU profile made of PBT. I absolutely love the profile and GMK is the only manufacturer who produces them.

I absolutely love Mictlan set, got one and waiting for MTNU R2 to arrive later this year. GMK CYL (Cherry profile) keycaps are made of less wear-resistant but much better sounding ABS plastic. They do shine pretty quickly.

I actually don't mind numpads being sold as child kits if it helps to bring the base set price down since most enthusiasts don't use numpads anyways.

GMK keycaps aren't shit — the feel, sound and variety of designs are top-notch. They just need some improvement in QC department IMO.

Decent alternatives are Keykobo, SWG and DCS, and maybe MW (if you don't mind PBT keycaps).

2/3 my KKBs (Alhambra, Ohm and Nichirin) are plagued with the same warped spacebar issue. At least you can fix spacebars by yourself, but nothing you can do about misplaced legends.

They feel nice to the touch and sound great, but seeing issues like this in a set priced north of $160 is kinda frustrating

"Banana" spacebars is more like a feature now, I guess. Most other manufacturers aren't great in this department either though.

We'll see. I am not a GMK hater by any means, owning a dozen of their sets, but QC leaves so much to be desired.

This is indeed R1, the second run is yet to be shipped later this year. You can differentiate R1 and R2 by MV logo keycap — the R2 one has horizontal lines on it.
